Motivation:
Why do people marry?

A. Activity:
Create 3 groups and answer the following.

• Define marriage.
• create a sample of family tree on the manila paper
• give at least 5 different rituals of marriage in different cultures.

B. Analysis:

1. What are the different concepts of marriage?


2. how does marriage become the formation of kinship ties and social networks?
3. Why are we studying other culture’s concept of marriage
C. Abstraction
 Discuss Marriage and different concept of marriage.
 Discuss what is kinship and how does marriage become the
formation of kinship ties and social networks.
 To understand and respect other culture’s concept of
marriage.

Application:
Kinship 1. The bond of blood or marriage which binds people
together in group.
Monogamy 2. is the practice of having only one spouse at one time.
Polygamy 3. The practice of multiple Marriage
Nuclear family 4. A family consisting of a married man & woman and their
biological children.
Extended Family 5. A family where Grandparents or Aunts and Uncles
play major roles in the children’s upbringing. This may or may not include
those relatives living with the children. These family members may be in
addition to the child’s parents or instead of the child’s parents.
