REQUIREMENT AND SPECIFICATION

1. Problem Definition

The current existing system on which the shop works, is totally

offline. This arises a lot of issues in the working, managing system of the
shop. The various problems being faced by the existing system are – that
maintaining customer orders, records becomes hectic as they are
maintained within some registers. This includes risks like misplacing of
registers, customer orders and hence the level of difficulty for maintaining
data within the system increases.
To overcome these issues, we are developing a desktop application
which will make the system computerized. The application will consists of
different modules which will be helpful for storing customer’s data, orders,
employee details, inventory details, details of the daily purchase of the
shop as well as a billing module. This modules will make the system user
friendly, data of the system will also be maintained efficiently and
communicating with the dealers will become much easier.

2. Requirement Specification

The main aim in this stage is to assess what kind of a system

would be suitable for the problems and how to build it. The requirements
of this system can be detected by going through existing system and its
problems. The main need of the system is to allow the user to have full
access within the system and maintaining a secure database. This can be
achieved by providing user registration, login module. This module will
allow only the registered users to access the data of the system. The full
proof security with the unauthorized access will be achieved by having
different username and password for each user as per their convenience.

 The other requirements is to reduce time which takes during the
calculations in the existing system as they are done through paperwork. In
the proposed system, calculations are done in automated system and will
consume less time as compared to manual paperwork. As the new
employee joins the shop he will be provided a unique username and
password. In the proposed system, the Admin has the authority to modify
the details and Add, delete and make changes according to his
preference. The report of the daily sales activity can be generated easily in
the proposed system.

The following above chart provides the detailed description regarding the time
invested for completion of each particular task within the project. The very first
step is approval of project which includes deciding the project topic which
took approximate of 15 days. The next step is discussion with stakeholder for
finding out the clients requirements. The next task is preparation of
documentation which includes four chapters and the graph provides the full
description about the time spend in completion of each of these chapter.
