It gives me pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Mr. Ahsan Iqbal; he graduated with a
bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering from my department in June 2012. I have
known him for more than 4 years as teacher and his final year project examiner.

Ahsan is a well disciplined individual with a humble outlook. He is a social person and enjoyed working in
team projects. I had found him a responsible young man with a positive as well as hardworking attitude.
He enjoyed respect and admiration of his batch mates during his stay at school. He was active in student
different societies and was among the founding members of Society of Manufacturing Engineering at
college. He has a natural ability to workout difficult tasks with ease and comfort.

His academic performance was also good. He always reflected good problem solving skills for both
qualitative and quantitative assignments. His writing as well as presentation skills are impressive and he
has the ability to put ideas into words quite comfortably.

I was the examiner of his final year project in which he worked for a local pipe manufacturing firm. This
was a group project spread over two semesters of the 4th year. The project was aimed at ‘re-engineering
pipe manufacturing processes with emphasis on quality control’. Ahsan and his project team were able to
identify variations in the manufacturing processes using six sigma methodology. The results of the study
were used to develop cost effective solutions for the company which helped to minimize 1% of overall
defects which in turn resulted in cost savings of upto Rs. 0.00 million per annum. The project was highly
successful in achieving the desired objectives and was awarded the Best Project at the Convocation of 2012.
His contribution was very significant in this successful achievement.

Since his graduation, he has been actively in touch with his junior batches and helping them in seeking
internship as well as employment opportunities.

Ahsan should be a strong candidate for the postgraduate program that he intends to take up in your
institution of learning and I would recommend him for the same.
