Introduction
The era that we are living is full of technologies, new inventions and equipment. Which
has changed the system of working in an organization or has changed the definition of how the
work gets done. But in other side market is being developed by new organizations and they
demand more skilled and talented people rather than experienced people. But nowadays the
situation is getting tough. Every day there is a new technology in the market but on the other
hand there not enough skilled people in organizations. As an outcome there are more skilled
shortages than in the past market situation.

As discover in past reports, the shortages of talent and skill are now all around the
world. Actually instead of hiring new people or extra people, the employers should pay
attention to their own employees to develop their talent and skills. It can help the employers to
implement the business strategy with a flow. This way not only the employers can achieve
more profit, but even the employees can be benefitted by identifying their skills and developing
them to make their career path brighter.

According to the survey of a well-known recruiting company named Manpower, in the


year 2018, 45% employers face difficulties in searching the required skills. Some bigger
organizations have even more problems and have reported 67% talent shortages. It not only
about the manufacturing industry, but every single industry is having issues of hiring employee
with the right technical skills and proper knowledge of the upcoming technologies that are
being used for various organizational purposes.1

In every organization where there are skill shortages, there are failures. The needs of
skills are vital to make succeed every business. In UK, the solution of skill shortage will help
the UK commission to fulfil their goals by allowing the employers to use the skills in bigger
quantity and also by creating more opportunities for the employees to build their career path
forward. According to the role of MAC, if the issue of skill shortage cannot be filled from
within the DLM, they can fill the gap by the individuals who migrate from outside of EEA.2

In this document you will be occupying the knowledge about the shortages that the
organizations are facing day by day. There will be a discussion related to this issue. As I have
mentioned some data about the shortages till 2018 by manpower, you might have an idea about
the effects of this issue. So the document includes the various effects of the skill shortages on
every organization in the manufacturing industry.
