7E’s LESSON PLAN IN SCIENCE -10

I. OBJECTIVES

-At the end of the lesson students are expected to:

A. Define light.

B. Identify the different types of mirror and lenses as well as the images formed
by them.

C. Explain the law of reflection.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

TOPIC: Light, mirrors and lenses (The reflection and refraction of light in mirrors
and lenses.

D. Learning Resources: Science and Technology IV. Physics textbook for fourth
year. Rabago, Lilia M.,Ph.D.,et al. 2001. pp.238-40.
Science and Technology IV. Physics textbook.NISMED.
2012. pp. 38-46.
E. Other Resources: https://www.google.com/search?ei=UP6eXY3GIpL3hwOYy6bICQ&q
F. Learning Materials: Projector, Board, Powerpoint presentation and Books.

CONTENT STANDARD: The learners demonstrate an understanding of:

The images formed by the different types of mirrors and
lenses.

LEARNING COMPETENCEY: Apply ray diagramming techniques in describing the

characteristics and positions of images formed by lenses and identify ways in which
the properties of mirrors and lenses determine their use in optical instruments.(e.g.,
cameras and binoculars)

IV. EVALUATION/ASSESMENT

-The teacher will ask the following questions:

(1-15 items)

DEFINITION OF TERM

1. What is light?

IDENTIFICATION

2. This type of mirror has a surface that curves inward and causes the light rays
to come together or converge.

3. This type of mirror has a surface that curves outward and causes light waves
to spread out or diverge.

4. This type of mirror has a flat reflecting surface at which the images formed
are in same size but then facing opposite directions.

5. What lens is thicker in the center than at the edges?

6. What lens is thicker at the edges than in the middle?

7. What image could be formed by plane mirror when an object is in the front of
the plane mirror itself and is always same size as the object?

8. What do you call of the point midway between vertex and center of
curvature?

9. What image could be formed by concave mirror when an object is located in

front of it.

10. What image could be formed by concave mirror when an object is located
behind the mirror?

EXPLANATION

11-15.What is meant by Law of Reflection (5 POINTS)

*RUBRICS

Correct/concrete answer: 5 pts.

Slightly correct/concrete answer: 3 pts.

Incorrect answer but with exerted effort: 1 pt.

IV. EXTEND/ASSIGNMENT

-Let the students search for what is meant by ray diagramming techniques.
