III. LEARNING TASKS

Introduction

The class will be divided into groups. (Groupings would depend on the available gadget for use
in the instruction.)

The learners will be asked

Each group will be given 10 minutes to watch uploaded stories relative to research in Google
Classroom.

Preliminary Activity

The teacher will ask the learners to answer the following questions in the
“Coursework”:

1. What are these stories/projects all about?

2. How did these things happen?
3. What do they tell us to do?

Brainstorming Activity about RESEARCH vis a vis Formulation of class definition of

RESEARCH.

What is RESEARCH? (Using mentimeter, the students will contribute a word or a phrase
that can be used in the formulation of the class definition of RESEARCH.)
Directions:
1. Go to mentimeter.
2. Access the activity by entering the code.
3. Contribute a word or a phrase about your personal understanding of RESEARCH.
4. View the word collage.
5. Assess your output.
6. Get the 10 most shared words.
7. Formulate your group definition of RESEARCH using the 10 most shared words via
mentimeter.
DISCUSSION (ANALYSIS)
WHAT IS RESEARCH?
 Presentation of the Group Definition of RESEARCH.
 Decide on a class definition of Research by adopting (and modifying if necessary) which
they think is a definition that captures the meaning and importance of research.
HOW IS RESEARCH MADE?
 Based from the video what are the research processes?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEuul8hBip8

WHAT MAKES RESEACH NECESSARY

 Based from a short video presentation, why is it necessary?

FOLLOW-UP DISCUSSIONS (ABSTRACTION)

 How would you describe a RESEARCHER?
 What should a RESEARCHER take into consideration in doing a RESEARCH?
Even in RESEARCH, stealing is a crime. What is a crime that a RESEARCHER might
commit?
(P _L _ G I _ R _ _ M)
 How could a RESEARCHER avoid committing such crime?
A RESEARCHER should (A _ K _ O W _ E _ _ E) the work of others.
 How could a RESEARCHER do it?
C _ T _ T _ ON (and how are we going to do it properly, this is another topic that we will
discuss in this subject)
Integration across the curriculum:
a. Values Education and Science
 Our common home is at risk. How would you feel if you will be able to save the lives of
others (humans, animals, planet) through your research work? Why would you feel that
way?
b. Mathematics
 What is the parallelism can you think of between RESEARCH and Mathematics?
c. Social Sciences
 What activity in history is the best example of a RESEARCH?
(E _ _ l _ _ a _ _ o _)
d. Can you think of other Subjects/Courses that are related to RESEARCH?
IV. GENERALIZATION
a. The class will be asked to recite the “class definition of RESEARCH.
b. Answer the following individually.
Directions: Raise your right hand if your answer is TRUE and raise your left hand if
your answer if FALSE.
1. The body of knowledge could be improved by RESEARCH.
2. RESEARCH could begin from a simple curiosity.
3. RESEARCH enables humans to find solutions to their problems.
4. Locally made RESEARCH could not have universal effect.
5. RESEARCHERS could commit a crime if they will not acknowledge the work/s
of others.
V. APPLICATION
