FINDING

This chapter discusses the findings of the a survey on part time job among general public in
Batu Pahat. The findings are included gender of respondents, age of respondents, education
level of respondents, the main cause of doing part time job, type of part time job and benefit
of working part time job.

3.1 Gender of Respondents

 The figure 3.1 above shows the gender of respondents questionnaire among general
public in Batu Pahat.
 The male respondents tend to be majority respondent toward the questionnaire by
52% (26) of the total respondents.
 Female respondents tend to be less than male respondents which is 48% (24) of the
total respondents
 Overall, for both number of gender respondents are equally same.

 The figure 3.2 above shows the age of respondents among general public in Batu Pahat.
 The highest range age of respondents is between 26 until 30 years old which is by 44%
(22).
 The second highest range age of respondents is between 31 until 35 years old which is
by 24% (12) .
 The lowest range age of respondents is between 19 years old and below which is by 4%
(2).
 The rest of respondents are between 20 until 25 years old which is by 18% (9) and
between 36 years old and above is 10% (5)
 To conclude the chart, the age of respondents between 20 until 35 years old tends to be
majority of the respondents.

 The figure 3.3 above shows the education level of our respondents in Batu Pahat.
 The majority education level of respondents is SPM by 36% (18) and Degree by 34%
(17) of the total respondents.
 The lowest numbers of respondent’s level of educattion is Master an Certificate, which
both is 6% (3).
 There are no respondents among general public in Batu Pahat have education level in
PhD.
 The respondents with different level of education which is it relate with survey of part
time job among general public in Batu Pahat.
3.4 The main cause of doing part time job

 The figure 3.4 above shows the main cause of doing part time job that respondents have
chooses based on the choices answer given.
 The highest reason that has been chosen by respondents is higher cost of living with
(28%)total 14 respondents has tick it.
 There are two cause lowest that been the main cause doing part time job among general
public.
 The cause to travel and to fullfil time is both 2% which have 1 respondent vote for it as
the main cause why the choose to do part time job.
 To clarify the graph is shows vary main cause that lead respondents do part time job in
Batu Pahat.
3.5 The type of part time job

 The figure 3.5 above shows the type of part time job that respondents have chooses
based on the choices answer given.
 The highest type of part time job that has been chosen by respondents is oline business
with (24%)total 12 respondents.
 There are three type of part time job that less been chosen by respondents among general
public in Batu Pahat, which everyone is 4% of respondent’s choice (2).
 Majority among general public in Batu Pahat is choose to do part time job as delivery
service (16%), sales promoter (14%) and homemade work (12%).
 To clarify the graph is shows the type of part time job that lead respondents do part time
job in Batu Pahat.
3.6 Benefit of working part time job

 The figure 3.6 above shows the benefit of wokring part time job among general public
in Batu Pahat
 The graph shows a variety of benefit of working part time job provided in the
questionnaire.
 The highest benefit that is chosen by the respondent is earn extra money with 13 people
respond with the answer given.
 The lowest benefit is by choose others where the respondent fills the provided blank
with the benefits “understand the work culture”.
 As conclusion, we can see that respondents are average agreed with the benefit of
working part time job is “reduce loan debt”, “can learn career skills”, “gain more
experience”, “increase networking and “decrease life depression”.
Conclution and recommendation

As from the studies of the survey on a part time job among the general public in beta Pahat, is
aiming to identify the cause of why they are doing the part time job, the type of part time job
and the benefit of the part time job. So, the studies are carried out using a set of questionnaires
that have been prepared and distributed randomly to 50 of the general public in beta Pahat. The
data were collected back from the questionnaires and analysed using Microsoft excel. The data
interpreted using pie charts.

The result of the studies, we can conclude that, 50 respondents of the general public were nearly
equal between male and female which is 52% male and 48% female. The age of the respondent
is majority from the age of 26-30 years old (44%) follow by 31-35 years old (24%), 20-25 years
old (18%), 36 years old and above (10%) and lastly 19 years old and below (4%). This data
show that, most of the general public that do part time job is between 26-30 years old, this
because around this age, their income not yet stable and need to find extra money because of
the high cost of living. As the education level of the respondent, show that most of the
respondents have SPM which is 36% and nearly follow by Degree 34%, diploma 18% and
between master and certificate share same percentage which is 6%.

Form the studies find that, the main cause people doing part time job are because of higher cost
of living. 28% of the respondent choose this option compare, then other option. Because the
higher cost of living vice versa to other reasons for doing part time job such as help families or
to gain extra money. For the type of part time job, 24% of the r respondent choose to do online
business, follow by delivery services which is 16%. Between sales promoter and business stall
share same percentage which is 14% and other job are less choose by the respondent.

As for the recommendation, working part time is ideal, especially for family oriented who need
to take care of the families at home, as for example housewife doing part time such as online
business to help her husband to ease the living cost while taking care their children at home.
But there is the disadvantage of doing part time job which is doing two type job or more, they
are often fatigued from working, have less time for family and tend to withdraw from their
social life because they have limited time to do so.
