Good afternoon fellows my name is Tajwer Fatimah and
the topic we five are going to present is fifth generation
war.
In this brave new world , u might not be interested in War
but my friends war..is much interested in u.
so what is basically 5th generation war?
to understand this, lets dissect this term from Right to left
as WAR , GENERATION and WHY WE CALL IT 5th?
now what is War? WAR is an incredibly complex thing. if
you visit a library and study various books on war , you
will come outside still asking yourself what is war or more
importantly..What does it mean to kill.
Is it considered killing when someone pulls trigger. But
trigger could have never been pulled if the weapon was
never made.
is it considered killing when a soldier follows the orders
or when a commandar gives a command..
or is it the citizens who allow government to invade other
nations.
is it the silence that allows politicians to make decisions..
is it the ideology that a person or nation believes
or a War just begins with a president signing a piece of
paper that allows millitries to fight.
But if we talk about the literal meanings then Merriam webster
dictionary defination of war says that ( its a state of usually open
and declared armed hostile conflict between states or Nation).

Now lets move towards the word generation. Like after every
year or two a new model of car is introduced with some
advanced features..its called an addition. But when a change
comes after one two or may be three decades , we call it a new
generation for instance u people can easily grasp this by the
concept of 3rd generation and forth generation of internet

now comes the main question of this segment..Why we call it

5th generation of war. Before focusing on the number 5 ..lets
have a brief outlook on first four generations of warfare.

if we talk about empirical characteristics of First generation of

warfare then thisss is a contest of Will . it results in a clear
winner and loser.the goals are of geopolitical interests and
winning terrotries. old war actors are state armed forces. this
generation of war has tactics of lines and colomns and
maximizing soldiers on ground.

now in the period of second generation of war roughly between

World war 1 and World war 2, comes technology like rifles
breech loaders and macine guns that replaces massive amounts
of manpower.
then comes 3rd generation of warfare that overlaps its tactics
with the previous generation..main event of this generation is
industrial revolution that results in advancement of technology
that adds intensity in warfares with airforce and naval force . its
era can be define from World war 2 and korean war & vietnam
war

Now 4th generation of warfare has a very blurr and undefined

concept. in this generation of warfare there is very undefined
line between war and peace.sometimes there are no defineable
battlefronts like Afghanistan..sometimes there are clearly
defined battlefronts and sometimes highly dispersed battlefields.

its tactics include designing your defence in such a way that u

have highly technologically sophisticated and advanced troops .
even a smaller number of them can do really big disasters. its
example is war on terror.

Now comes the 5th generation war or hybrid war that can be
defined as a millitary strategy which employs political warfare
and blends conventional warfare , irregular warfare and
cyberwarfare with other influencing methods such as fake news ,
diplomacy , lawfare and foreign electoral intervention.
