Project Report Guidelines

CS/IT-ABCD

Kindly prepare project report as per the guidelines given below:

1. The project report shall be typed or printed on 21 cms 28 cms size paper. No hand written report
will be accepted.
2. The project report shall be typed on both side with 1.5 spacing with a margin of 3 cms on the left 2.5
cms on the top and 1.25 cms on the right and bottom.
3. Report should be written in Times New Roman 12 font size.
4. In a report, the title page should be given first, then the certificate by the candidate and the
supervisors followed by acknowledgement and abstract of the report not exceeding 1500 words. This
should be followed by a table of contents, list of figures, list of tables, abbreviations/ nomenclature,
chapters, appendix, references and list of publications.
5. The references should be given at the end of the report.
6. In the body of the text, a reference should be indicated by a number in parenthesis such as [5]. These
references should be listed giving (i) the author’s name and his initials (ii) the title of the paper and the
name of the journal (iii) the name of the book and the publisher(iv) the number of volume, page
numbers and the year of publication. Standard abbreviations may be used in the names of the journals.
7. The diagrams should be printed on a light background. Tabular matter should be clearly arranged.
Decimal points may be indicated by a full-stop. Numbering and title should be given at the bottom of
the diagram and for table it should be written at the top.
8. The report shall be spiral bound at the time of pre submission.
9. After the approval of the supervisor the report shall be submitted in hard bound. Cover page should
be black in colour.
10. Signatures of the supervisor (s) and student (s) on are must.
11. Discussion of every figure/diagram/ table and graph must be included in the text.
12. Two Hard copies of the report have to be submitted at the time of final project Viva Voce.
13. Contents (Indexing) must be according to referred formats (given in enclosures)
14. For any guidance of formatting and preparation of project report please contact to your
respective supervisors and project coordinators.
15. Pages of the project report must be numbered (Start from chapter 1: 1---40---). Front page must not
be numbered. Acknowledgements to Abstract ...must have roman numbering (i,ii--)

Note: Soft copy of the Project report on R-CD should also be submitted at the time of final
submission.
