Individual Assignment Unit 13

Eliana Lopez

1) Certifications:

Certifications on Agile can open up so many doors especially if the person interested does not
have experience working with agile or scrum, having the certifications can become a huge plus in
interviews and a lot of companies are looking for certified people.
Scrum Alliance and Scrum dock org, both offer one certification for each role in scrum: one for
Product Owner, one for Scrum Master and another for Developer (team member of scrum team).
Scrum Alliance (CSM, CPO), have the number three certification that is CSM Certified Scrum
Master. It also offers the CPO (Certified Product Owner). Scrum dock org offers three levels of
certifications: PSM I, PSMII and PSM III.
The both Scrum dock org and Scrum Alliance used to be one organization: the Scrum Alliance, the
difference between them is that for the Scrum Alliance you have to take their training and is
around one thousand three hundred (1300) dollars. After finish the training you can take the exam,
this certification is very popular. On the other hand, the PSM education exam certification costs
one hundred fifty (150) dollars.

PMP-ACP is relatively new and required experience in both Traditional (two thousand hours) and
Agile Project Management (one thousand five hundred hours), Scrum alliance do not require
experience but required that the courses of training have to be taken inside of scrum alliance (two
days). On the other hand, Scrum dock org does not require that course has to be taking in its class
and does not require experience.
PMI-ACP required to do an Exam of one hundred twenty (120) questions, while Scrum Alliance
(CSM Certified Scrum Master, CPO Certified Product Owner) required an Exam of thirty-five (35)
questions.
PMI-ACP and CSM, CSO required to be renewed, the first after three years and the both from
Scrum Alliance after two years. On the other hand PSM I and PSM II do not require renewal.

SAFe
In relation with PMP- ACP, I would like to add that inside of the PMI Project Management Institute
there are most relevant certifications that covert traditional Project Management. The number
one certification the PMP Project Management Professional, that is widely required in many job
positions of Project Manager. The requirements are to have a Bachelor Degree and thirty-five
education hours and forty-five hundred (4500) hours of experience in project management. This
is around two and a half years of experience and not necessary on managing projects, apply the
experience working on projects as part of the team. The number two certification is CAPM is
Certified Associate in Project Management, the difference is or has to be to do with the amount
of experience that is required, for CAPM the requirements are, have a high school diploma and
fifteen hundred (1500) hours or twenty-three (23) education hours. The exam for both
certifications is hard.

Scrum dock org, and Scrum Alliance, for both, is possible have more into high-level certifications
and go in training and coaching. For Scrum Alliance, There are a certification at advance level,
Advance Product Owner and recently were added Advance Scrum Master and Advance Product
Owner.

2) Tools
Follow comparison and some description of features and functionalities of Jira and four Agile tools.
In reference to Agile, JIRA Software is offered by Atlassian and is the number one tool use for
software development. Leaving aside Jira, and considering VersionOne, Rally, Scrummage, and
Pivotal Tracker is possible to summarize that:

 In relation with Burndown Charts, all tools have them except Rally.
 All have Release Planning except Pivotal Tracker.
 Taking in account all 4 steps in agile projects (Planning, tracking, releasing and reporting),
Pivotal and Scrummage do not have the option of generate reports.
 All tools have Backlog Management; Plan, track and manage Sprints.

VersionOne

VersionOne allows you to unify Agile and DevOps by connecting tools, process and data on a single
platform. This platform shows in real time where parts of the process need to improve
performance, identify bottlenecks and reduce implementation times.

Version one provides a vision for accelerating the development and delivery of high-value
software, improving quality and reducing risk in large technology projects.

By means of metrics, it allows capturing the idea, the required steps and the flow of value along
the process determining delays or waste allowing to improve them in an early way.

Rally

It is one of the powerful tools for agile management offered by CA Technologies. Rally is another
platform to manage software in which is possible manage projects, among which one of the main
features is the panels, in which it is possible

● To configure the columns shown in some screens, but not in others.

● There are a number of actions you can do in a user history in a list, but once you select a
series of stories, some of the actions (such as delete) are suddenly no longer available.
● Click on the name of the story, and a pop-up window will appear where is possible to
change a subset of the values. However, to get the full summary, the user should press
another (dark) icon which results in a new screen with more options.

Scrummage

It is an agile software development tool offered by Scrummage app. Scrum is an agile way to
manage a project, usually software development. Scrummage and Version one offer the option of
creation of team and assignation of roles. Scrummage facilitates the scrum process in every level
and is an easy tool to manage agile projects with the disadvantage of not offer the possibility of
creation of reports.

Pivotal Tracker

When using tracker the speed is calculated based on the average of points completed during
recent iterations.

That is to say that this mode of work allows predicting or estimating the future based on yields
coming from iterations carried out in previous activities. Tracker automatically moves the stories
to the top of the backlog. This depends on the configuration that has been previously defined
based on the speed of the project.

In tracker, there are only three types of users which are members, owners and viewers. Which are
ordered hierarchically from the one who has more permissions to the user who can only see the
status of the cards and their location.
