Vinyl version does not disappoint!

This is a review on the Vinyl Pressing. This pressing sounds much better than my CD version. It has
the warmth of vinyl and a wider sound stage than my CD version. I was concerned this was going to
be another poorly mastered so called "Vinyl" reissue, but it's not. The pressing is flat and dead
quiet. If you like the CD version and prefer the Vinyl format this is worth picking up.

Don't know what remastering magic they did, but the music just pops off these LPs. Big dynamic
range. I would like to be able buy Tom's solo works on vinyl, but they're all ridiculously highly
priced on eBay (Full Moon can be had for around $30, but forget about Wild Flowers and Highway
Companion which are as high as $500. Although I usually avoid greatest hits packages, this being
the only way to get Last Dance With Mary Jane on vinyl, it's a worth exception to the rule. Anyway,
the record sounds great and I fully recommend this issuance (can't say reissue, since this its time in
vinyl).

This is a review of the quality of the album. The music speaks for itself. Whenever I see Remastered
by Chris Bellman, I feel confident its going to be a quality recording. I have a fairly good system
that really brings out the weaknesses in a crap recording/pressing. I don't mind paying a few dollars
more for an album that is recorded & pressed properly. If it's not then I'd rather save myself the
trouble and get the CD or MP3. The cover quality is good. Lined sleeves as usual. Flat vinyl. This
album is dead quite. The recording has depth and full range without being harsh and fatiguing to
listen to. I know that sounds like I'm reviewing a bottle of wine but I can't think of another way to
explain it except maybe... it sounds good!

This is a review of the 2016 vinyl remastering -- it's great! Incredibly quiet pressing, hifi All-Analog
mastering job (the ONLY way vinyl should be remastered, whenever possible)...1 star deducted
though because they made an error and remastered the wrong version of "Last Dance With Mary
Jane." (When the engineer mixes a song, they often print multiple alternate versions, with one
version being considered "the" final one, but isn't always clearly labeled for mastering engineers
20+ years later...I'm assuming that's what happened here...and I find it funny that some fans think
the record company will correct this problem -- they'd have to remaster that song, recut the whole
side of the disc, and repress....thousands and thousands of dollars to do -- for all 40 audiophile
hardcore Tom Petty fans who care. It isn't like repressing a CD, so if you absolutely need to hear the
proper lyrics of "Mary Jane," then don't buy this version of the record)

Greatest Hits is a compilation album finally released on vinyl July 29, 2016, by the late Tom Petty
and The Heartbreakers on the Geffen Records label. This great collection of hits covers all his great
tracks such as American Girl, Breakdown, You Got Lucky, Don’t Come Around Here No More, Free
Fallin, Mary Jane’s Last Dance and so much more. This is one of those albums that there are no bad
tracks, all good from start to finish. I was impressed by how well this album was written,
performed, recorded and produced. If you were to add one Tom Petty album to your library, I
would recommend this one.

This was my first purchase of a brand new remastered Vinyl record. Ive been picking up oldies used
for a bit now but this was a great choice. Sound quality is fantastic. Every time I look at reviews for
any vinyl there always a bit split. Some got junk and others are ecstatic. Im ecstatic. So either I got
lucky or others may have been unlucky. But either way Ill take it. Big fan.

I'm really happy with this purchase. I was crossing my fingers because they last time I bought a
record brand new (not from this seller) it came scratched and unplayable. But luckily it sounds
great, not scratches on it. I had hoped to buy it for christmas but they sold out fast, so I bought it
as soon as it was back in stock. I gave it as a gift and they loved it.
