Instructions to Question Paper Setter – B.Tech
1. The question paper is to be set for a maximum of 70 marks.

2. Question paper must contain two parts (PART-A and PART-B)

3. PART-A consists of 10 short answer questions (2 marks each) by selecting one question

from each UNIT of the syllabus

4. PART-B consists of 5 questions with internal choice (10 marks each) by selecting one

question from each UNIT of syllabus. In each question there may be sub questions.

5. The format of the question paper and a model question paper are enclosed.

6. Please set the question paper in such a way that the candidate is able to answer full

question paper within 40 pages of A4size. This is because the candidate is given only one

answer book containing 40 pages. No additional sheets are provided to the candidate.

7. The questions must be framed within the scope of the syllabus.

8. If the question paper contains any diagrams they must be neatly drawn with clear

dimensions in order to avoid any confusion to the student. The diagram caption should

identify the question to which it belongs. For example Fig.Q1, Fig.2a (if the question has

subparts) etc. The figures must be inserted at the appropriate position in the soft copy. If this

is not possible the hard copy of the figures should be sent.

9. The question paper and other enclosures must be sent by E-mail to coe.sitams@gmail.com

10. Delete the Question paper file after receiving confirmation from the Controller of Examinations.

11. Strict confidentiality must be maintained.

12. If the Paper Setter is unable to accept the offer, the same must be intimated to the Controller of

Examinations immediately.

13. Any additional requirements such as Handbook/ IS codes/ data sheet/ graph sheet (normal or

semi- log) are to be provided to the candidate, please indicate the requirements clearly in the

question paper.

14. The soft copy of the question paper should be set using Microsoft word 2007 with password

Encryption. (The encryption instructions are attached for your reference).

15. Question paper key should be prepared. For theory questions mention clearly only the

salient points. Forgive the step-wise solution and the answer. The graphs in the solution

must be clearly drawn
