9A Visa Extension Procedures and Requirements

Foreign National under Temporary Visitor’s Visa may extend his/her stay in the Philippines
by applying for a “Visa Waiver” (for non-visa required tourist) which shall entitle the foreign
national to an additional stay of Twenty-nine (29) days. Thereafter, he/she may apply for one
(1) month, two (2) months or six (6) months extension at least one week prior to the expiration
of valid stay.
Documentary Requirements
1. Checklist (TVS-C-VE-2016)
2. Original Passport
3. Application Form (TVS-CGAF-VE-2016)
4. Sworn Statement for overstaying / updating of stay of more than six (6) months
5. Additional Information on Applicant’s children (if needed)
Procedure
1. Secure the CGAF Form from the Public Information and Assistant Unit or from the BI
Website
2. Submit the Application form and attachments and passport to the frontline officer
3. If the applicant has no derogatory records, a BI Clearance Certificate shall be issued.
Otherwise, the applicant must proceed to the Verification and Certification Unit for
Clearance.
4. Get the Order of Payment Slip and proceed to Cashier for payment and get the Official
Receipt.
5. Submit the OR with the application form, attachments to the receiving/assessment
officer.
6. Claim the passport stamped with the requested extension of stay.

Visa Waiver (Non-Visa Required Tourist)

For Non-Visa Required tourists, admitted initially for thirty (30) days and requesting for
initial extension of twenty-nine (29) days.

Long-Stay Visitor Visa Extension (LSVVE)
For temporary visitors, regardless of nationality and not otherwise disqualified, who wish
to extend his/her tourist visa during the last thirty (30) days of the previously issued LSSVE,
or upon the expiry of a regular visa extension. The total duration of extension shall not be
more than six (6) months from the time of expiration of the authorized stay.
