1. Why did you choose the program to explore?

a. What did you expect to learn from it? (50 words minimum)

I hope by learning to use this application my grammar can improve, can improve my english
knowledge.I can master a lot of vocabulary, this application can also improve my ability to
learn english. This application is very helpful for me in remembering the grammar that I have
learned before. I hope this application can improve my reading, listening and writing skills.

b. What language skills and/or sub-skills do you expect to improve? Please mention any
specific skills/sub-skills do you want to improve? (150 words minimum)

Duolingo is a very interisting application for me. Because I can learn while playing, this
application also uses very interisting pictures. I can learn and remember grammar using my
mobile phone. I also can study wherever and whenever. I hope this application can improve
my reading, listening and writing skills, especially in my grammar skills. Because by using
this appliaction I can remember the grammar that I have learned before. This application really
help me in any skills, especially in grammar I think. Even though I have learned grammar for
years, but it has not been very effectively for me. This application helps me remember the
patterns, tenses, tobe, vocabulary, and various ther grammar. Besides grammar, this
application can also help me in listening and writing skills. My listening skill is very low, with
this application I can improve my listening skills, and the sound system spoke vey clearly, so I
had no trouble to listen it.

2. In average how much time did you spend learning through the program? Why?
(50 words minimum)

The time that I spent on this program was about half and one hour per day or more. Because
sometimes when I feel bored, I try to answer questions in this application. This application
very fun and interisting for me, it makes me feel continuing to solve the questions given. By
using the time limit, I feel more challenged to answer the questions. The questions is divided
into many types, there are speaking for the experienced, writing, listening, matching the
subject and verb, about nouns, fruits, colour, animals, grammar and others.

3. Identify and elaborate one aspect in the program that you found interesting and
engaging. (150 words minimum)

An interesting aspect of this program is its icons, duolingo has a display with cute icons with
colorful colors that make me comfortable and excited to use this application. This application
made me know about many things, but it also increased my vocabulary. Duolingo has a
reward system and a target system. Every time you finish studying, duolingo will give a
reward in the form of a linggot. Linggot that you get, can be used for shopping at the Duolingo
store. The learning system that Duolingo uses is like a quiz, there are questions that must be
answered. I have to finish the first chapter so I can move on to the next chapter. This is what
makes me very curious, I'm curious about the questions in the next chapter. I even finished
several chapters at one time. In duolingo is called a streak. I really enjoyed learning to use
this application.

 4. Referring to your answer in question 1 above, to what extent the program has
helped you achieve your expected language learning goal(s)? (200 words
minimum)

This program really helped me, especially in grammar skills. With this application I can
repeat the lessons that I have learned from junior high school. The question is simple for me,
but sometimes I am also still wrong in the preparation of the sentence. Duolingo really helped
me in this matter. I can improve and improve my grammar skills. This program also helped
my listening skills. When I first started using this application, I often repeated what the native
speaker said. But after a few days using this application, I only need to hear it once without
having to repeat it. My listening skills have greatly improved with this application. For three
weeks I used this application, I was very satisfied with the development of my vocabulary and
abilities. I can translate sentences, arrange sentences (according to grammar), write sentences
that you hear, answer sentences you hear, repeat conversations that you hear and even look for
similarities or resistance of words. Although it is an easy question for me, sometimes I am
also wrong in translating or composing sentences. It's clear that I forgot the grammar lessons
that I have been learning for years. This application helps me to relearn grammar that I have
learned before.

5. For what level of English language learners this program is suitable? Why? (200
words minimum)

I think this program is perfect for English language learners, especially for me. I as an English
learner was greatly helped by this application. This application makes me more effective in
learning English. This application can improve your ability to learn English. Learning while
having fun, it's very interesting to me. just by translating sentences, arranging sentences
(according to grammar), writing sentences that you hear, answering sentences that are heard,
repeating conversations that are heard and even looking for similarities or resistance of words,
I am able to master a lot of material. But if English students want to improve their profound
abilities, this program is less effective for that. Because this application only contains
questions like quizzes, and also has a cute icon. In my opinion this program is only suitable
for adding vocabulary, improving grammar, writing and listening skills. This application is
only as a helper tool to improve the ability to learn English for English learners. Because this
application is not focused on in-depth material, but only to improve language skills through
various tests such as two levels of basic tests, phrases, food, animal names, phrases in foreign
languages, color names, conjunctions and various other basic tests.
