 Seminar-Workshop on Comprehensive Transfer Stage from UBD to 21st Century


Classroom
This one-day seminar-workshop will provide opportunity to all participants to have a clear
understanding of the Transfer Stage of UBD (Performance Task) to 21st Century
Classroom Teachers and Learners. Topics to be discussed will include a clear
understanding of UBD as a design in teaching and learning so that the teachers
proactively plans a variety of ways to express learning in the performance tasks of the
21st century learners.

Objectives:
1. Adapt the transfer Stage of UBD (Performance Task) to 21st Century Classroom Teaching
and Learning.
2. Strengthen integration of transfer stage with 21st century skills as a design in teaching
and learning process
3. Showcase sample lessons applying UBD as a performance task for students.

 Seminar-Workshop on Effective Teaching Strategies for 21st Century: Shifting


from Content-based to Skills-based Learning Approach
This one-day seminar workshop is centered at applying models of a skills-based learning
approach from the traditional content-based teaching strategies with integration of 21st
century skills, which intend to improve teacher’s teaching strategies, using content to
contextualize learners’ ability by applying realistic teaching models to create real-world
solutions to real-world problems.
Objectives:
1. Enhance teachers’ skills in integrating skills-based learning approaches
2. Strengthen integration of 21st century skills, subject-based contents, and application of
realistic approaches in teaching methods and strategies
3. Produce a lesson plan that integrates 21st century skills, skills-based learning
approaches, and realistic application of content

 Seminar-Workshop on the Art of Questioning: Improving Teacher’s Quality


Questioning Approach and Classroom Learning Environment
This one-day seminar workshop is centered at enhancing the skills of the teachers on
asking the right questions which will intend to make students exercised their thinking
abilities, establishing teacher’s approach to questioning and classroom learning
environment, and designing a positive approach towards the art of questioning
Objectives:
1. Improve and ensure teachers’ art of questioning skills and competency building among
faculty
2. Strengthen integration of values in classroom instruction and in everyday activity of
teachers
3. Prepare a plan of action in integrating 21st century skills in the art of questioning
 Seminar-Workshop on Comprehensive Classroom Management: Establishing
Positive Peer and Teacher-Student Relationship
This one-day seminar workshop is created to improve teacher’s classroom management
skills focusing on the learning and understanding of positive peer and teacher-student
relationship, sustaining the students’ basic psychological needs, creating safe and
supportive learning community, working with parents and developing standards for
classroom behavior.
Objectives:
1. Improve teachers’ sense of efficacy in the area of classroom management by
influencing how well students learn, even those who are difficult and unmotivated.
2. Assist teachers to develop a teacher-researcher mindset which able them to create their
own approach to become effective and professionally responsible classroom managers
3. Prepare Plan of Action for Classroom Management through development of a
classroom program.

 Seminar-Workshop on Test Construction: Improving Teacher’s Quality


Questioning Through Higher Order Thinking Skill
This one-day seminar workshop is centered at enhancing teacher’s skills on test
construction and application of higher order thinking skill, which will intend to assess the
learner’s understanding of the content more effectively and efficiently by including the
construction of problem solving, critical thinking and decision making activities that will
help students enhance their higher-order thinking skills.
Objectives:
1. Improve and ensure teachers’ skills and competencies on assessment, test
construction, and higher order thinking skill
2. Strengthen integration of higher order thinking skills in assessment and test construction
3. Construct good test item questions that is reflective of higher order thinking skill

 Seminar-Workshop on Effective Use of Supplemental Educational Materials (SEM)


This one-day seminar workshop is centered at applying models on the use of
Supplemental Educational Magazines (SEMs) as a complementary and supplementary
to the teaching-learning process, which intend to improve teacher’s teaching strategy,
integration of 21st century skills, and using content knowledge to contextualize learner’s
abilities.
Objectives:
1. Utilize and integrate SEMs into lesson planning and teaching-learning process
2. Appreciate SEMs as a vital part of the curriculum and teaching-learning process
3. Showcase sample lesson plan that uses SEMs as a complementary and supplementary
to the content and teaching-learning process

 Seminar-Workshop on Cooperative Learning Strategies for the 21st Century


Classroom
This proposed Seminar-Workshop in Cooperative Learning Strategies for the 21st
Century Classroom is designed to provide the school administrators and teachers with a
focused training in the approach and assessment of cooperative learning. Participants
will engage in interactive, experiential, and alternative learning on the use of cooperative
learning strategies, highlighting the principles involved in implementing it, and the ways
that may be used to measure the process and output of cooperative learning. Such
training is a must to teachers of today in order to empower them in creating and enriching
the unique context of 21st century, student-centered classroom.
Objectives:
1. Discuss the strategies for cooperative learning that teachers may find useful in their
classroom context.
2. Apply the guidelines/principles for conducting cooperative learning in the classroom.
3. Identify the challenges and benefits in implementing cooperative learning activities.
4. Discuss how the cooperative learning strategy may be beneficial to the students and
teachers in the teaching-learning process.
