Road Accidents in India

India is a densely populated and a developing country where the probability of

accidental deaths on roads is quite high owing to multitude of factors. The data has
been segregated on various conditional parameters such as time, age of driver, type
of road, time of accident, traffic control system in use, type of license held by driver
and the weather conditions. The job of each analyst team is to use different data
management tools such as Excel, Tableau etc. to identify correlation between various
parameters and give a qualitative insights.
About the data

Data was taken from Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and was to
be processed on various parameters and their mutual relationships. After analysing, a
detailed list of inferences had to collated and theoretical explanations are to be
provided along with viable and practical solutions to the cause variables identified
therein.

Mr Roy along with his team was thinking for a tool to get better visualization and
understand of data so that they can offer some concrete insights from the data
provided. He was contemplating on the following issues :

a. Does the age of person driving the vehicle affects the probability of accident ?
b. Can the kind of road and traffic controlling system reduce the accident
probability ?
c. What is the effect of driving licence on occurrence of road accidents ?

My Roy was noting all these points . Suddenly he watched the time and realized that
it was pretty late for today. It was time to go back to home.
