Aim : Synopsis of project on “ Surplus Food Waste Management Appliaction using

andriod platform”.

Background
There are 194.6 million undernourished people in India alone. Well, we knew it is not possible to
ensure that no one sleeps hungry at night. But, at least we can take a step in the direction and 'Olio'
is our initiative for this cause. this application is our commitment towards the community to use
excess cooked food to serve the underserved people. With this initiative, we help users reduce food
wastage and make better and right use of their excess cooked food. From social events to parties
organized at home, there are several instances when you are left with cooked food that will be
rendered useless by next day. Instead of throwing the food ,we urge to use it and feed the needy.

The idea for this project was born with our observation of how easily fellow students dispose expired
food products. Due to the high cost of living, many students tend to buy food products which are close
to their expiry date and sometimes in large quantity due to their discounted prices, as shops attempt
to get as much of these products out of their inventory to reduce their losses. With the proliferation of
smartphones, I thought of the feasibility of using the smartphone as a lifecycle tracker for our food
inventory, and be regularly informed of those products whose expiry date is close by. It is expected
that this would help to reduce the amount of food spillage in the households.

Existing System : In existing system if anyone have extra food because of any function or in
their home it will be
become waste because instantly there is no way to share with anyone if they are having lots of
food. Even if they want to give that extra food to any orphanage or poor people they don’t have
time or don’t have an idea about that
So that we have create a application for sponsor that extra food to poor people or nearby
orphanage.

Proposed System : In proposed system we are reduce that food wastage using that
application. This project is food redistribution is an enormously successful social innovation that
tackles food waste and food poverty. The donator notifies the procurers through push
notification broadcast to the nearby NGO’s , orphanages or other those who are open to accept
 the food. After receiving the food from the agent by donor and give alert message to that
donator through this way we can reduce food wastage problem.

Objective

● Using excess cooked food to feed the hungry and needy

● Connecting individuals interested in procuring as well as donating food at different
establishments.

The objective of this project was to create a mobile application to assist users in
managing their food inventory. The application would store and display basic
information about the inventory contents and alerts the user of the food products
which are due to expire the next day. Consequentially, users may take actions to
avoid the concerned products get wasted or spoiled. It is believed that a
considerable amount of food waste would be avoided in households if the
occupants are well-informed of the timeline of their food stocks. Provisions have
also been made to allow for the multi-device use. Most food management applications available
are mainly concerned with helping users watch their weight and food in-take and generally
requires lots of information from user. The advantage of this project is the use of the simplest
information of food products to monitor the inventory. With an eye on the future,
a demo solution was integrated to show compatibility with future advancement in
food packaging.

Abstract
This project is used to manage wastage foods in a useful way. Every day the people are wasting
lots of foods. So we have to reduce that food wastage problem through online. If anyone have
wastage foods they are entering their food quantity details and their address in that application
and then the admin maintain the details of food donator. The donator can create the account and
whenever they are having wastage food they can login and give request to the admin. And the
admin also maintain the buyer(orphanage,poor people,..) details too. After the admin view the
donator request and give the alert message like time to come and collect the food. And the
admin collect foods from donator through their nearby agent then provide to nearest orphanages
or poor people. After receiving the food from the agent by admin and give alert message to that
donator. If the donator need any detail about the orphanage with helping thought they can give
request to the admin and collect the orphanage details. This project is food redistribution is an
enormously successful social innovation that tackles food waste and food poverty. The user’s
details are maintained confidential because it maintains a separate account for each user.
