Ableton Announces University Tour Throughout United States

The German Company Introduces College Students to the World of Music Making

BERLIN (November 1, 2018) – Ableton, an industry leader in the creation of software

and hardware for music production, embarks on a 20-stop tour across the east coast

educating young adults in using their software “Live”. These presentations, workshops

and performances are designed to educate and inspire music makers of all skill levels.

This is the first time the German company will be visiting the U.S. for this type of

presentation tour, and tickets will be available at no cost for students and faculty who

are involved with the universities. The tour will begin January 14 at the Berklee School

of Music in Boston, and head down the coastline, ending in late March at Orlando’s Full

Sail University.

This innovative series of conferences features keynote speakers who will share their

knowledge and creative process of using Ableton’s Live software for music composition

and live performance across a wide variety of music genres. Already slated to present

on the tour are techno DJ Tiesto, former Prince engineer Susan Rogers and electronic

music producer Calvin Harris. More announcements of performers and lecturers who

will be attending to spread their knowledge of composing music with young minds will

be made public over the next few months.

“The goal of this tour isn’t just to showcase the new features of Live 10,” senior vice

president John Brown said when discussing the innovative series of conferences. “The

goal is to inspire and encourage young people to make music at any skill level using

whatever medium they like. We are here to show them that our company will be by their

side wherever that journey takes them.”

Ableton will be celebrating their monumental first tour outside of Germany with a

giveaway of one of their Push devices to a lucky student at each of their 20 stops

across the east coast. Push is a powerful, expressive instrument that can be used as an

extension of the Live software for both production and live performance. The device will

help improve the student’s musical workflow and can be very functional no matter what

previous skill level they have. The fortunate winner will also learn the basics of using

their new device during a one-on-one session with an Ableton engineer at the

conference.
