Given your qualities as a student, do you consider yourself as a good leader?

I have always been told that my qualities make me a good leader, indeed. People say that I inspire
others and have this persuading aura that always encourages others to do the same. Sometimes, I can
stay calm under pressure, and still keep the motivation up. My commitment and passion are also what
drives others heighten their motivation. Creativity and innovation are also qualities that I have.
Nonetheless, one thing that they never knew about me is that I always tend to mess things up, especially
when someone is always looking, or whenever there are audiences present. I tend to get nervous, and or
in worst cases, make the worst decisions. That is one thing that I need to overcome before it comes any
worse.

Give concrete examples where you exhibit leadership in your daily activities

When it comes to things that like to do, that is when I always take account on, and be as the
leader. One instance is when we were making a documentary film during my first term here in Mapua. I
didn’t hesitate to take on as the leader because I knew it’s what I’m best at. I tried to know my groupmates
better and guided them so that we’d have a smooth transition in making the documentary. I knew that
they have never experienced making a documentary, and there I stood, leading them into things that they
need to do. It was really a fun experience making one, also teaching them at the same time with things
that I can share with others.

In your opinion, what is the significance of leadership in one’s personhood? Explain your answer.

Leadership of oneself develops self-confidence and self-awareness of one’s own capabilities that
develop as they progress on. Everyone need to be a leader in some part of their lives. It’s not about those
talents and skills that we have that make us a good leader, but it’s always about character. The way we
inspire others to do and finish tasks efficiently is what matters most. We may have the best talents in the
classroom, but it shows no significance if we can’t cooperate and communicate with our fellow
groupmates. That’s why everyone can be a leader; not by a man of talents, but a man of inspiration.
