DIMENSIONAL CHART OF CPVC PIPES AS PER IS 15778: 2007
( Pipes as per SDR 11 are also covered under ASTM D 2846) All dimensions are in mm Nominal Mean Outside Diameter in mm Class - 1 (SDR 11) Class - 2 (SDR 13.5) Class - (SDR 17) Diameter in Min Max Min Max Min Max Min Max mm 15 15.8 16 1.7 2.2 1.4 1.9 20 22.1 22.3 2 2.5 1.7 2.2 25 28.5 28.7 2.6 3.1 2.1 2.6 32 34.8 35 3.2 3.7 2.6 3.1 40 41.2 41.4 3.8 4.3 3.1 3.6 50 53.9 54.1 4.9 5.5 4 4.6 65 72.8 73.2 4.3 4.8 80 88.7 89.1 5.2 5.9 100 114.1 114.5 6.7 7.5 150 168 168.6 9.9 11.1 Working 270 C 2.76 2.18 1.73 Pressure in MPa at 820 C 0.68 0.55 0.42 TEMPERATURE CORRECTION / DERATING FACTORS Operating 0F 70 80 90 100 110 115 120 125 130 140 150 160 170 180 200 Temperature 0C 21 27 32 38 43 46 49 52 54 60 66 71 77 82 93 CPVC 4120 1 1 0.91 0.82 0.77 0.74 0.65 0.64 0.62 0.5 0.47 0.4 0.32 0.25 0.2 1) The minimum wall thickness of 15mm pipes are not a function of SDR which is the ratio of minimum outside diameter to wall thickness 2) The Class -1 (SDR 11) pipes of this chart are similar to that of pipes as per ASTM D 2846 and are commonly marketed as per this standard Note: 3) CPVC 4120 is the recommended grade of material in ASTM D 1784 & 2846 having a Hydrostatic Design stress of 14 Mpa (or 2000 psi). 4) To obtain working pressure at temperatures between the ranges mentioned above, the values at 270 C should be mutiplied by the respective correcting or derating factor. For example, the working pressure at 600 C for 50mm x Class 2 (or SDR 13.5) pipe will be ( 2.18MPa x 0.5) or 1.09 MPa or 10.9 kg/cm2.
