IV. LEGAL BASIS

The DepEd Memorandum No. 128 s. 2019 posted on September 24, 2019 entitled 2019 Drug
Abuse Prevention and Control (DAPC) Week will serve as the legal basis for conducting this
activity.
1. Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 124 issued on November 26, 2001,
entitled Declaring the Third Week of November of Every Year as Drug Abuse
Prevention and Control (DAPC) Week; this year’s Celebration will be observed
from November 18 to November 22, 2019 with the theme: “Katarungan para sa
kalusugan, Kalusugan para sa katarungan”.

2. The Celebration of the Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week aims to make
people aware of the dangers posed by drug abuse, and to further strengthen their
resolve to do their share in the fight against this menace.

3. All public and private elementary and secondary schools are enjoined to organize
educational and social activities to celebrate the occasion.
V. IMPLEMENTING AGENCY

VI. PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project aims to educate the students of Mangaldan Integrated School SPED Center on
Drug Abuse Prevention and Control in compliance with DepEd Memorandum No. 128, s. 2019.
In order to do so, the following activities will be implemented on November 18 –November
22, 2019:

 Putting up of bulletin displays accessible to all students of Mangaldan

Integrated School SPED Center.
 Symposium on Drug Abuse Prevention and Control to be participated by the
MISSC students.
 Conduct of different contests such as Barkada Kontra Droga Poster-Making
Contest and Barkada Kontra Droga Slogan-Making Contest to be participated
by MISSC students.

VII. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the activity, the students of Mangaldan Integrated School will be attaining the
following objectives:

 Acquired information on commonly abused drugs.

 Acquired information on the causes and effects of drug abuse.
 Develop awareness and appreciation of drug abuse prevention and control.
 Cite possible ways to contribute in the fight against drug abuse.

XIII. METHODOLOGIES

To achieve the objectives of this activity, the following methodologies will be implemented:

 As a preliminary activity, a bulletin board containing commonly abused drugs and

effects of drug abuse will be posted in strategic location that is accessible to all
students of Mangaldan Integrated School.

 A BarkadaKontraDroga Poster-Making Contest and Slogan-Making Contest,will be

held to promote cooperation between students and create awareness of ill-effects of
drug abuse among individuals and communities and to promote sports and other
worthwhile activities against drug abuse.

 A symposium will be held in cooperation with officials from Mangaldan PNP.A

Resource Speaker will be asked to provide valuable information on drug abuse
prevention and control.

 Furthermore, a dialogue between MISSC students of Mangaldan Integrated School

SPED Center and officials from Mangaldan PNP is to be held after the symposium
for clarifications and additional information.

2019 DRUG ABUSE PREVENTION AND CONTROL (DAPC) WEEK

To create awareness in celebrating the 2019 Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week, a
tarpaulin was strategically placed infront of the Mangaldan Integrated School SPED Center.
 Moreover, a bulletin display containing ill effects of drugs was set up in an area accessible
to all Junior and Senior High School students of Mangaldan Integrated School SPED Center.
 Also,the BKD coordinators conducted the search for best barkada kontra droga corner
wherein the participants are the Junior and Senior High School.
 As the highlight of this week’s celebration, a symposium was conducted on Drug Abuse
prevention and control led by the OIC Mangaldan PNP, PLTCOL. Jun M. Wacnag ,PLT.Joel J.
Jugal Deputy Chief of Police , PMSg.Janice S. Bien,Police Community Development provided
significant information on drug abuse and Pastor Rodrigo Sante on moral values.

Our principal spoke about the ill effects on drugs and how it can be prevented by the
youth/students.
A dialogue was opened to those who wanted to seek further information and clarification.
 The Junior and Senior High School teachers of Mangaldan Integrated School led by our
Principal Dr. Jupiter L. Petilla , Assistant Principal Dr. Vivien R. De Guzman of MISSC Senior
High School department and the three NDEP Coordinators, Ms. Joyce A. De Asis, Mrs. Maria
Elaine M. Soriano and Mrs. Noemi Columbino gave honor and praise to the invaluable messages
of our Resource Speakers,PLT.Joel J. Jugal,PMSg.Janice S. Bien and Pastor Rodrigo Sante.

 To create awareness in celebrating 2018 DRUG ABUSE PREVENTION AND CONTROL (DAPC)

every classroom from grade 7 to grade 12.A picture of all participants was taken during the contest.Judging
