Vision & Mission

Analysis:
This school represents a learner-centered environment where in learners are the
focus in education. Focuses in the interest of learners, wherein teachers help
learners to be engaged in activities inside the classroom and encouraging them to
reflect on what they learn and how did they are learn it?
EPISODE ONE
SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT INTERACTION

Instructions: Describe briefly your observations on the following: (If possible attached some pictures
to support your observation)

Student-to-Student Interaction Patterns

This interaction between the student- to-student will address their communication skills.
Like for instance, in this photo you can see that they are brainstorming to come up with
the best answer for the activity. They interact with their seatmates’ boys and girls by
having different topics. But when the class starts, they can participate to the class. They
are aggressive in answering the question of their teacher.
Student-to-Teacher Interaction Patterns

In this interaction, I observed

that learners respond when
their teacher asked them to
answer what is shown in the
PowerPoint with a little
hesitation maybe because
learners are sometimes

Their teacher encourages
them, at the end they will
give –in and will try their best
to get the correct answer.
This will address the
understanding of the learner
in the lessons discussion.

Teacher-to-Student Interaction Patterns

The teacher interacts to their

students in English language
although there are also
times he speak vernacular
but not often. I observed that
the teacher motivates his
students and easily gets
their interest. He encourages
the learners to participate by
calling any one to answer
the question. He teaches
them how to learn the
subject well. He has strategy
on how to let the students
learn easily. This will
address how the learners
response to the teaching
style of the teacher.
Student-to-Non-Teaching Personnel Interaction Patterns

Learners from this school know how to

respect even to non- teaching personnel. I
observed that when a learner passes
through to a group of non-teaching
personnel or any non-teaching personnel
they still greet them politely.

Teacher-to-Teacher Interaction Patterns

I have observed that in this interaction,

teacher acts in a professional manner. They respect
one another. They greet each other, addressing them
properly. Not only that, they also work with
cooperation and with focus in finishing the job.
Dealing the work with professionalism as shown in
the photo.

will grow and will become educated /
knowledgeable. They will learn how to be
responsible, a good person and to follow the
laws and regulation as a Filipino citizen in this
society. Aside from that, inside the classroom
learners have different attitude and
personalities just like our society. They worked
together for achievement of a certain goals
which are necessary for their living and
survival. Learners will learn a lot of things from
their teacher, classmates as well experience.

There are a lot of factors to consider. It’s the

people who are interacting to each other.
What we have seen with people inside the
classroom is a type of people we can see in
our society. Another factor is the teacher
being the presider inside the classroom and
we have the president that leads us in our
society. Another thing is, the rules and

Inside the Classroom

Instructions: Select and narrate briefly the best topic discussion done by the teacher while you were
doing your observation. (If possible attached some pictures to support your observation)

Narration of
the classroom
discussion

I have observed that during the lesson, the learners are focused and attentive while
their teacher is explaining the on how to solve the problem given. The lesson is about
logic and probability theory, wherein two events are mutually exclusive or disjoint if
they cannot occur at the same time. In order for the learners to fully understand the
lesson, he gave an example. What he did was he draws a figure explaining how to
locate the learners for the outcome. Learners are participating; they asked questions
if there are possibilities to come up another answer. The teacher responded to their
questions and explained further in order to understand by the students. Mr Cano
asked also the students if they have other questions or clarification to the topic he
discussed. One student raised his hands and asked a clarification. And then, Mr
Cano give other example and picked one learner and ask him to show his answer in
the board. Lucky for him, she got the correct answer. And then, Mr Cano, explain to
them on how the student come up with the correct answer.

It is important for the teacher to look for a teaching strategy wherein you can catch
the attention of the learners in order for them to be interested in the topic and inspire
them to participate with the activities that will be given to them in order for the teacher
to identify whether her learners understood the lesson.

important, but the teacher has to control the amount of
time dedicated to it so that it doesn't turn into an
escape.
Benefits of intentional classroom dialogue is that it will
be of great help for both learners and teachers the
ability to speak in public. It will also help the learners to
be engaged in a conversation that can improve their
vocabulary skills and speaking confidence for both
learners and teachers. It is one way of interaction

EPISODE THREE

Curriculum Implementation

Instructions: Describe briefly your observations on the following: (If possible attached some pictures
to support your observation)
One thing that comes into my mind when I entered the classroom is that the teacher practices a
minimalist type of environment. It is very spacious that the learners can move freely. Inside the
classroom also has two (6) ceiling fan and a twelve (12) windows ensuring a well-ventilated
environment for learners. Mr Cano also considers the importance and value of the scientist which
is the name of the class section. It is hang on the wall and ceiling in order for learners to read and
inspired. Chairs are well-arranged. They have water dispenser where the students are free to drink
water. They have 3 garbage can with three different segregation. Teacher’s table is at the back
side for teacher’s belongings safe keeping. Aside from the teacher’s table at the back, they also a
table in the front that can be used by teacher during discussion. All in all, for me it is a positive
place where a learner can come to work toward specific goals. And the teacher is very positive,
outgoing, confident and compassionate towards her learners. Perfect for the students the
opportunity to learn and to know fellow learners.
The school facilities has a big impact on both
teachers and learners outcome. With respect to
the learners, school facilities affect the health,
behavior, engagement, learning, and growth in
achievement. It is also very difficult to serve big
numbers of learners with complex needs. In terms
of functionality of all school facilities shown above,
for school library, inadequate supply of books to
be used in research was observed. Computer
units are functional. Equipment and educational
apparatus are also present. A very helpful facility
in today’s generation especially because
generations of today deals with high technology.
They also have wash area. They also have
canteen that offers healthy nutritious food for
everyone. They also have covered court for school
activities and important events.
Arrangement
of the Subject
Matter

As what I observed, the subject matters were

properly explained and discussed by the teacher.
Teacher Jenny gone enough examples in each
problem in their discussion. They were also giving
time to their students to ask questions or any
clarification about the subject matter. And to have a
cleared understanding about the subject matter,
students were given tasks or activities by their
teachers.

EPISODE FIVE

Curriculum design
Instructions: Describe briefly the curriculum type (Subject Centered, Experience/ Learner and
Society/Culture Based) observed in the class. Write a brief explanation to support your
observation(s).

Subject-centered curriculum design revolves around a particular subject matter or

discipline. For example, a subject-centered curriculum may focus on math or biology.
This type of curriculum design tends to focus on the subject rather than the individual.
In relation to my observation, this curriculum was being practiced especially when
doing problem solving or in using group work activity wherein learners cooperate one
another to have a best possible answer.

In this curriculum, centered on certain aspects of the learners themselves and may
explore the learner’s own life or family history or local environment. Like the classroom
that I am assigned right now, learners are practiced to share their ideas on their
personal experiences related to the lesson. It is one way of catching their attention to
listen to the lesson because they can relate with the topic that was being discussed.

Culture refers to shared ways of being, knowing, and doing. Culture-based education is
the grounding of instruction and student learning in these ways, including the values,
norms, knowledge, beliefs, practices, experiences, and language that are the
foundation of culture. This curriculum emphasizes on the Cultural Heritage of our
country as well as be able to recognize the Cultural Identity of every Filipino. That is
why for this new curriculum they included the Mother Tongue wherein learners can put
into practice the language that he / she has grown up speaking from early childhood.
Inside the classroom that I have observed mostly the teacher is speaking in bisaya in
order for her learners to fully understand the lesson.

captions of every picture.
This experience opened my eyes the hardships
of a teacher just to achieve the so called learning
