Abstract
Distance education was introduced in India in 1962. With more than half a centry gone by and latest
technological advancements, the country has not witnessed any improvement in the way distamce education is
imparted.
Research relevance: The distance education is outdated in India because latest technology isn’t used. Moreover
Moodle system isn’t available in India. Its high time people realize distance education also has equal value
provided education is implemented well Moodle system can add value to practical solutions and effectiveness of
long distance education
Research goal: To work out a strategy for introducing Moodle and frame guidelines for its
management in Coimbatore, India.
Research methods: Document analysis, statistical data analysis, online surveys, expert method, interviews and
social media content analysis.
