Note: In a semester system of education, courses are normally defined in terms of credit hours.
Some courses have further sub-division into theory and lab work. One credit hour of theory work
means one lecture hour in the classroom per week per semester (18 weeks). One credit hour of lab
work however, is equivalent to two contact hours in the lab per week per semester.

The student may choose the courses of their choice offered by the department however,
subject to the availability of expertise in the field. Top five students of the class whose merit
will be determined on the basis of their result 1st – 6th semesters, take a project in 7th and 8th
semesters in lieu of two electives. These students have to submit the report well in time but
in any case before the commencement of their theory examination of 8 th semester so that
the same can be sent to the examiners for evaluation.

Admission Criteria for BS Programme in Mathematics

Intermediate with mathematics having at least 45% marks in aggregate and 40% marks in entry test.
