Calculation of Trial mix no.1

A-03 TARGET STRENGTH FOR MIX PROPORTIONING

Characteristic Strength of Concrete = 40N/mm2

Current Margin as per IS Code (1.65x5) = 8.25N/mm2

Therefore, Target strength = 48.25N/mm2

A-04 SELECTION OF WATER CEMENT RATIO

Maximum Water cement Ratio as per IS 456:2000 = 0.40

Based on experience,Adopt water/cement ratio as = 0.37

0.37< 0.4 Hence O.K.

A-05 SELECTION OF WATER CONTENT

Based on trial for required

workability water content
taken as - = 162.8Kgs/Cum

A-06 CALCULATION OF CEMENTITIOUS CONTENT

= 0.37
Adopted Water cement ratio

440Kgs/Cum
Cementitious content = 162.8/0.37 =

= 300Kgs/Cum
As Per IS 456:2000 minimum cement content

440 > 300 Hence O.K.

Using Fly ash @ 20% By Wt of Cementitious Content = 88Kgs/Cum

And Cement Content 440-88 = 352Kgs/Cum

And Water Content = 162.8Kgs/Cum
