Allysa: Ok to start things up, first let us first know what is the meaning of SOGIE Bill and
what is it all about. So SOGIE BILL (SEXUAL ORIENTATION, GENDER
IDENTITY, and EXPRESSION) is a prohibiting discrimination. SOGIE BILL or
Equality bill which aims to protect and to have equal rights of an LGBT community.

Latria: In addition to what Sen. Allysa said SOGIE BILL is also meant to fulfil the fights to
set forth in the 1897 constitution or THE EQUAL PROTECTION CLAUSE. This state
that every individual have the right to access to courts and laws with equal treatment from
both. This bill also acknowledges the Phil. Duties and it recognizes the non- discrimination
of the LGBT as both national and international duty.

Ignacio: SOGIE BILL should be cognitive before pushing it to the congress then. But why
does the concept of SEXUAL ORIENTATION and GENDER IDENTITY in SOGIE
BILL is important?

Calisog: This Bill should be discuss more over. How about you Mr. Rongel Dayag as one
of the member of LGBT community. Should the SOGIE BILL implemented or filed in the
congress?

Rongel: As for me the SOGIE BILL has a good and bad reasons. Yes I am one of the
member of the LGBT community but this bill is not necessary since there are already
existing laws that “safeguard the rights of citizens against discrimination” some of this are
The United Nations’ Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Civil Code of the Phil.
Labor Code of the Phillipines, Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995 and so on. There are
so many victims of discrimination in many ways examples are their appearance, but do they
need Anti-Appearance Discrimination Act? They are fat but do they need the Anti-Obese
Discrimination Act. Also their height, status, age and many more. For me SOGIE BILL
should not be implemented because what will happen to some religious and Christians who
are not in favour of SOGIE BILL? And many more.

Ignacio: Mr. Rongell so you were against SOGIE BILL

Calisog: Well, it was in your own opinion.
Ignacio: The next question is. Is SOGIE BILL beneficiary for non- LGBT members?
Mark: Like what Senator Allysa said about SOGIE BILL it’s all about aiming to protect
and to have equal rights of an LGBT community. So it’s not beneficiary because it does not
give equal right of an LGBT community. Basically it was just for the sake of the LGBT
community. But then, how about us who also experience discrimination? Is SOGIE BILL
really important and needed to be implemented? Why is that?

Allysa: In addition to what Mr. Gallardo said SOGIE BILL should have a deeper
discussion, and as for now SOGIE BILL doesn’t have a 100 percent chance to be filed or to
be signed in the congress. But some senators pushing this bill to be implemented. Like what
I have said there should be a more and deeper discussion about this topic and it should
benefit the non and LGBT community.

Calisog: Like what Senator Allysa said it should also benefit the non and the LGBT
community equally.

Sheina: But how does this BILL affect the religions and educational freedom? Do we really
need this bill.

Gwynette: SOGIE BILL let’s first recall the definition of SOGIE BILL(Sex Orientation
Gender Identity Expression) so basing on that definition or acronym the use of sogie bill is
to establish equality or to utilize equality on the gender but in the bible there is only 2
gender that God created which a man and a woman meanwhile the SOGIE BILL talks
about 2 or more gender specifically the LGBT community. But why is the SOGIE BILL
more focus on the LGBT community if it says equality all should have benefits but from
the looks of it from my perspective that is also being broadcasted trough radio stations and
being seen in the news the sogie bill is prioritizing community. Although the other side of
this is good but in religion there is good and bad why good cause it speaks equality. As it
said in the bible we are all created in Christ likeness created equally foolish, equally
intelligent, no superiority while the bad side of this is, it has more than 2 gender which is a
sin in the bible cause God like I said didn’t create more than 2 genders. It is the fruit of sin
that has brought upon the other genders, but I am not saying that it is their fault that their
born that way it’s because we are sinful and as an atonement for sin is death that should be
our punishment but our God is such an awesome God and a loving father that He gave his
only begotten son Jesus Christ and because of his crusifiction we were all saved but we are
still humans so we tend to make mistakes
