Subject: Children’s toothpaste: the facts
MLA Citation: Gaowgzeh, Riziq Allah, et al., “Prevalence of and Risk
Factors for Low Back Pain among Dentists.” J ournal of Physical
Therapy Science, The Society of Physical Therapy Science, Sept. 2015,

Analysis:
On November 14, I had my first mentor visit with Dr. Kelli. That day she
had me shadow one of the dental hygienist, and observe what she does on a
daily basis. As we were wrapping up the visit, I asked what's piece of advice you
wished to have known when coming into this field. Right away, she said
“Body Health”. As the mentor visit ended and i got in my car, the first thing
that my mind went to was Body Health and why it’s such an important
factor in this field. When i looked up body health and how it corresponds
to this field, the first link popped up to this article about the prevalence of
and risk factors for low back pain among dentists.
In this article, it starts by giving some background information and
the purpose of this article which was determined the pre-valance, symptoms,
and risk factors of low back pain among dentists and also discovering the
possible correlations of these factors with the working posture and I to
reduce the prevalence. A very current common disorder to occur in this
field is musculoskeletal disorders also known as Msds would usually occur
over Time, resulting from repair to workload exposures such as low back
neck and upper limbs are commonly key components that are vulnerable to
MSDS.
Dentist in particular are at the highest risk for neck and back pain
since most dental profession spend most of the day instead of an awkward
position over patience. Many measures can be taken to prevent pain such pain
is back and neck by taking a break in the middle of the day or performing
procedures with a good body posture in reducing repaired in motion.
However, they still found many common pains even with the new measures.
In this article, a study is taken on multiple aspects such as; Distribution
of gender, Distribution of the incidence of LBP (low back pain), Distribution
of site of injury, Distribution of severity of injury ,Distribution of years of
work, Distribution of number of patients per day, Distribution of having a
rest period, Distribution of exercising during the rest period, Distribution of
use of assistive tools, Distribution of awareness of assistive tools to reduce
back pain, to help resolve the problem. Among 60 subjects, 28 were male and
32 were female dentists, and among 70% of LBP incidents were along the sites
of injury. 90 % of the subjects showed had a mild to moderate level of
severity and only 9.5% had severe LBP.
All the pain could be due to the altered working posture required for
dentists to reach the oral cavity and is supported by previous studies that
dentists and highly pre exposed to LBP since most of the complaints of pain,
analyzed be regions of the body. Through this research, they were able to
find out lbp was commonly found in the age group of 30 to 40 years.
After reading this article, I was able to understand the true meaning
of taking care of you body, many pediatric dentists recommend whether
you're interested in medicine or dentistry, many professionals recommend
getting messages twice every month, from an early age so that in the future,
the pain isn’t that bad. Not only was I able to learn this but I was also able
to learn the key spots where pain occurs the most this profession.
