Risk Tables
Preliminary Risk Assessment
Qualitative Risk Assessment Criteria

The qualitative risk assessment criteria have been developed to identify key risks to the
environment, society, heritage and business reputation. The criteria are based on a risk
assessment matrix consistent with Australian Standard AS4360 on Risk Management (AS4360).
The qualitative assessments of risk severity and likelihood (refer to Tables 1.1 to 1.3) were used to
help provide a general assessment of the risks to the environment and community. The overall
risk level was determined by using the matrix in Table 1.3.
