Team Guidelines / Ground Rules

Ownership of Outcomes:
● Take responsibility as a team member
● Take responsibility as an individual to participate and complete the work
● Search for areas that the team can use your expertise
Team Values and Principles:
● Honesty:
○ Each team member will be transparent with all communication and relay truthful
information about project, task, and schedules
● Respectful:
○ Each team member is honorable and will be approached with respect from other
team members at all times
○ There should be no gossiping or talking about each other or forming separate
groups within the team
● Team Collaboration:
○ Each team member is required to work together as a group and participate in all
areas of the project
○ Each member should stay focused on their task and assist each other in areas
they might be lacking to keep the team on schedule
○ All tasks being completed by each team mate should be communicated with
team to create transparency
Meeting Guidelines:
● Team may be required to stay late or meet outside of class
● Send Group Texts about being late or missing class
● Team can meet with Maximum of 1 person missing
● Preplan to meet at least 1 or 2 weeks in advance

Decision Process:
● Each Team member is empowered to make decisions within their assigned tasks; unless
decision impacts scope, schedule, budget, or other workstream’s scope and schedule.
○ If decision potentially impacts the above, team member will consult with PM
before proceeding with decision.
○ PM will consult with team to evaluate options and determine final decision.
○ If all options impact scope, schedule, and/or budget, the PM will determine final
decision after consulting with the Sponsor and receiving approval for any
changes.
 ● Team members will communicate respectfully with one another and will remain open to
hearing all ideas before providing feedback.

Conflict Management:
● If there is a conflict within the team:
○ Talk it out with the member or members the conflict is with
○ Ask a neutral party to assist with mediation and facilitation to resolve the conflict

Other Agreements:
● To better manage the remaining class, we will come up with a plan to divide up the 14
class and the remaining work left for the class to get a better understanding of what is
left and what needs to be completed.
