live and interact with people. When looking to provide children with 21st century skills they can
“be listed as a group of words that begin with the letter “C”, communication, creativity, critical
thinking, and collaboration (2013). Language skills are necessary for our children to thrive in the
21st century. Another important skill observed as a critical part to the study of language is
problem solving. Learning language is not to just to develop word knowledge, although this is an
important skill, we must teach the importance of language in writing and speech. Words standing
alone don’t have much affect but having the ability to properly use them is key to helping
students communicate, create, think and collaborate effectively. This helps them in solving real
life problems and not just problems on a sheet inside the classroom.
Building language skills will give children the confidence to communicate. When
students can share their ideas, it opens the door to creativity and critical thinking. The Wabisabi
learning states that children are “constantly searching for ways to express themselves and their
uniqueness” (2016). Having children work in group activities helps them find their creative
minds. Creativity through language allows children to learn their identity and find their interest
in this world. We want our children to think. It is the very thoughts of humans that developed
language and the continued thought that has made it what we know today. To how language is
organized, classified, to all its rules and exceptions, we teach are children how to think. Critical
thinking is crucial for our children and will help the future unite itself rather than cause it to split.
There has been so many Facebook and Instagram posts to messages received and sent over the
phone that had words that were not seriously thought out. When we teach our children how to

critically analyze situations, we are teaching them to think before speaking or writing. If only all
those hasty decisions to write or speak the first words that came to mind were seriously thought
out. I know there would have been less wasted time with unhelpful communication and more
productive time given to thinking before speaking. Our children can learn how to know what will
make a difference and what will not. These skills lead to collaborating efficiently. Using
language to understand the process of how things work most effectively will help build a positive
work force. This is important due to the social platform we have today, the internet is a wide
range of collecting, sharing and interacting with people all over the world. The power to all of
I will do my best to set a standard that is high but reachable for my students to high-five.
It is said by the Oxford University press that guided teaching has a greater affect other than
leading the way 100 percent of the time (2013). Children want to be heard and if you give them
some room to experiencing learning in their way, they will bloom into a unique masterpiece. I
will encourage my children’s creativity and collaborating skills by offering many group activities
in which to participate in. Asking questions and even letting your children teach a mini lesson on
what you have discussed are way to help them be achievers. I will also like to test my children’s
development by other means than to just do standard testing. Having them write or create
presentations on a topic that is discussed helps encourage critical thinking skills. Having children
look up evidence and compare information details is vital for their confidence in their ability to
learn new ideas or discoveries on their own. It is the way you think and they way you put those
thoughts to action that will determine how you experience the world around you.
When language is used effectively it can be used to spread the word of God effectively. It
is teaching that structure is a good thing to have and a skill that is lost. We see that by having

our students with the best preparation tools and skills there is to offer. Giving children the
language, they need to survive is good to help children live with some form of identity. But
allowing children to use their minds to their creative beings based on an organized structure with
