TAKENAKA VIETNAM METHOD FOR GROUNDING RESISTANCE TEST

Flow Descriptive Procedures

Process Constraint Corrective Measures
Point 1: At Start, all participants for Grounding Resistance TestEarth Resistance
are present.

(1) Start. Point 2: Test instrument, reference drawings and Test Forms
should be available.

Point 3: Verify
the wires probesthat
arethe earth spike
separately P & C are properly driven and
connected.
(2) Tester, Dwg. and Forms.

Inspect the distance of Electrodes E, P & C and ensure that they

are 5~10 meters apart.

(3) Verification and

Inspection. Point 4: Check battery and select X 100 Ω range. This is the initial
setting of Earth Tester since the actual reading is unpredictable.

Point 5: Connect the test probe ( Green, Yellow, Red) to Earth

Resistance Tester.
Measure the Ground Resistance: Adjust the setting gradually
(4) Check Tester then set the
range to maximum setting . according to the displayed result in order to get the accurate
reading.

Point 6: Check the reading (follow TCVN).

(B) Drive additional
(5) Measure Ground. Res. then rod if necessary then
adjust setting gradually. network.
Point 7: Record the test result to Test Form (E-TC-02) and
keep as final after signed by respective attending parties.

Result Good
Follow TCVN Standard
Point A: Trace the caused of high ground resistance.

(6) Test (A) Trace to caused of

result. failure. Point B: Drive additional rod if necessary then connect to
the object electrode being tested as a network to reduce the
resistance reading then check again the ground.

(7) Read and Record

the Test Result to Test
Form.
