Weekly Progress Report (9/16-9/22)

Reflections
Throughout last week, I worked on my contact list, phone scripts, voicemail, and
interview questions. I also successfully completed my resume- both rough draft and final
draft. From my experience last time, I managed my time well and did not stress like I did
last week. I worked on my research assessment throughout the whole week so I only had
little parts to do every day.

Monday(9/16)
Added more information on my resume and spent more time on designing the outline. I
shared resume with former ISM friends for feedback. I also spent time finding my article
for the research assessment. I sometimes find difficulty in finding a good source and
learned that I need to improve my research skills.

Tuesday(9/17)
Improved my resume and interview questions after feedback session in class. I realized
that my interview questions needed more thought and effort. Reality hit me when I
thought about how I would actually use these questions with current, real professionals.
My resume got a 9,9, and 10 so I was glad it didn’t need as much work as the interview
questions.

Wednesday(9/18)
Worked on my research assessment. I annotated the article and started asking myself
questions- what did I gain from this, what questions do I have, what surprised me, and
more- in order to know what to write for my analysis.

Thursday(9/19)
Rehearsed interview questions with my family and former ISM students. After the group
activity, we did in class today, I felt really stressed about the quality of my interview
skills and decided to get help from family and friends.

Friday(9/20)
Completed my research assessment. I realized research assessments take longer than what
I think so breaking the work down helped me complete it by the deadline without any
stress. I went to Walmart and Staples to get my supplies for the research portfolio setup. I
had to order the divider tabs on Amazon since I wasn’t able to find them in stores.

Saturday(9/21)
Started working on my weekly blog. I will more confident about myself because I am
giving myself small goals instead of one big goal, which is effective according to one of
the ted talks we watched in class few weeks back.

Sunday(9/22)
Completed weekly blog. I went through google classroom to make notes of deadlines. I
also wrote down how many calls I need to make per day in order to meet the deadline by
October 4th.

Upcoming Goals
Call pediatricians, book interviews, practice phone class and voicemails, improve
interview questions and work on topic proposal. As Business Symposium is getting
closer, I realized I need to start working on my interview questions a lot more in addition
to making phone calls to professionals. I am VERY excited about the Business
Symposium but without practice, I will eventually feel more stressed than excited; thus,
my main goal for the next week is to reduce my stress by practicing more.
