MISSION STATEMENT

Father Saturnino Urios University is a Filipino, Catholic, diocesan, educational institution. It

strives for the full development of the person committed to the service of man, country
and God.

As a Filipino institution, Father Saturnino Urios University is dedicated to the cultivation,

propagation, and enrichment of the desirable Filipino customs and traditions and values to
form individuals who take a wholesome pride in their identity. It seeks to educate students
who can ably participate in achieving the national goals consonant with real development.

As a Catholic Institution, Father Saturnino Urios University is open to all. It believes in

man's search for truth through a on-going education resulting self-reliance and self-
fulfillment. Through the liturgy and an integrated program of religion, it fosters in its
members the Christian virtues of faith, hope and love which manifest themselves in a
personal commitment to Christ and His church as seen in a life of freedom, justice and
selfless service to others.

As a diocesan institution, Father Saturnino Urios University is committed to the diocesan

goal of a genuine Christian education whose purpose is the building of Christian
communities where people can be self-sustaining, self-nourishing, and self-governing. To
this end, it shares in the task of building such communities while it endeavors to become
one.

As an educational institution, Father Saturnino Urios University seeks to equip its students
with pertinent knowledge and skills for competence in their profession. It fosters in them
responsible awareness, personal discipline, and the ability to make creative and sound
judgments which will develop in them civic and social responsibility and the appreciation of
beauty and goodness.

VISION
Father Saturnino Urios University, a lay-empowered, Filipino, Catholic, Diocesan,
Educational Institution, envisions a community of men and women committed to
pursue the work of Christ for the wholeness of society.

MISSION
FSUU commits itself to:

1. Provide balanced program of spiritual formation, educational development,

research undertakings, and community involvement for all;

2. Form self-determined Filipinos who uphold the integrity of creation, are

crusaders of truth and justice, proud of their identity and heritage and in a
dialogue with different cultures;
3. Empower all as catalysts for social transformation and development.
