What is a Haat ?
• A Permenant market that promotes the craft , food and cultlural activities of a place.

• The concept of urban haat is to provide space for artisan and craft men of india exhibit
and sell their handicrafts, therefore cutting the middle agencies.

• LOCATION :
Preferred location is in Willingdon island , KOCHI.

• REASON: Kochi is one of the fastest growing urban cities in


india and lot of cultural events that attracts tourism from all
around the world which is added advantage to develop an
urban haat in particular district.

AIM
• To design a cultural hub to promote local handicrafts and culture of the place and its adjoining
areas through the sale of Artefacts, garments, accessories etc

SCOPE
• To enable artisans engaged in traditional arts and crafts with required skills and or enhancing
existing skills and further provide backward and forward linkages.

• To encourage the new generation of artisan families and other talented, aspirants to get
engaged in economic activities by employing modern tools.

MULTIPURPOSE SPORTS HUB
INTRODUCTION
• Sports complex is a group of sports facilites,sports such as football,cricket,tennis etc.
including stadiums have become popular in last few years,and that require sports facilities
for practice and competition.

• A Sports Complex is a closely knit well- balanced grouping of indoor


and outdoor games facilities offering a wide range of activities on a
comparitively small land area.

NEED OF THE PROJECT

• Sports have been given secondary importance and are


quite a neglected aspect, particularly in huge metropolitan
cities.
• This is due to lack of sufficient and proper facilities
and due to the hectic lives that we are living.
• According to APCRDA RFP, Sports has been identified as one of the 9 economic themes
for the Amaravati and a dedicated sub-city have been carved out in the master plan to
develop world class sporting ecosystem.

SCOPE OF THE PROJECT


• To study and creation of spaces such that
they derive maximum benefit from the natural
settings of the site, hence the climate as well.
• To create a space and buildings that would
keep settings of sports.
• The building has to fulfill the purpose of the
particular sport and its facilities.

OBJECTIVE
• To create a platform where one can learn,practice and play the
sports they wish to and have the best facilities availablefor
them so all these sports gain importance and acceptancein
india.

• With the planning of the government city in
Amaravati reaching an advanced stage, the AP
Capital Regional Development Authority has
now moved its focus to the development of
thematic city in the state capital - THE
SPORTS CITY
• This is a live project located in Amaravati,
which is a newly planned city in Guntur
District, Andhra Pradesh.
• The area of the project is 11 acres
• Surrounded by green passive zones, water
channels, and Financial City the site is weaved
into a prime location with exceptional
accessibility
REQUIREMENTS
• 25,000-seater Outdoor Football stadium with
necessary support & associated facilities;

• Indoor multi-purpose hall with flexible


seating arrangement and flexible capacity,
capable of handling various sports activities
and Events

• Multi-Sport facility inter-alia for tennis,


basketball, volleyball squash, badminton and
table tennis with necessary support &
associated facilities; the development should
also have necessary facilities for gymnastics,
judo, wrestling, taekwondo, yoga training,
aerobics, Zumba, etc

REASON FOR SELECTION OF PARTICULAR TOPIC

• As an architectural student I feel that school where an architectural student spends most valuable
5 years of his life studying has a direct influence on his career.
• Inteligence,creativity,sensitivity, and through knowledge of arts and science are essential for
achieving distinguished architecture and the school plays a major role in providing the right kind of
ambience to achieve the above qualities.
• Thus after being an architecture student for 4 years I felt there is a need to prepare professional
with ethical standards based on genuine concern for improving the quality of life of individuals and
society.
HYPOTHETIC PROJECT

LOCATION : Preferred location is at CALICUT.


REASON:
• Calicut is one the fastest developing city in India.
• Major economic hub.
• There are less number of Architectural colleges in calicut,when
compared to other cities.

SCOPE OF DESIGN
• School of Planning and Architecture is a big institute and developing a minimum sq.m campus in itself
is a big task. The scope of my design would basically contain the overall master planning of campus of
architecture institute.
