There are different types of habitat on Earth such as forests, deserts, mountains, polar regions,
oceans and fresh water.

A1. Animals that live on land are called terrestrial animals. For example- lion, bear, giraffe.

A3. Grasshopper needs a big habitat so that they can hop and gets grasses and leaves to eat.

not support life. The temperature on the mountains tops is very low and also the oxygen is scarce.

A5. Several adaptations help a camel to survive in a desert. Some features are as follows:
1. They have a thick coat of hair that protects them from the sun.
2. Broad and flat feathery patch at the bottom of its hooves prevents it from sinking into the sand.
3. Fat stored in the hump helps it survive long periods without food and water.
4. Two rows of eyelashes protect against blowing sand and the sun.
5. Nostrils can be closed to keep out blowing sand.

A6. The animals that live in water for most of the time of their life are called aquatic animals. Example:
Fishes, whales, octopus, etc. The two different types of aquatic habitats are- Oceans, fresh water.

as fat to use during winter when they go into hibernation.

A9. During hibernation their body temperature drops and rate of breathing slows down.

A10. Migration is the (seasonal) movement of birds and animals to far off places to stay away from harsh
weather or look for food and a safe place for their breeding. Example: African elephant migrates to
find food during the wet and dry seasons.
