Jesus took the form of a bond

Now all was well until the child
became sick. He died on her lap. The child
who was born after years of longing was
lying cold on her lap. What would have
been our response in such a situation?

complete trust in the sovereign Lord who
gave her the child. now the same God
could bring back the breath in him. That
faith in the living Lord gave her the
strength to travel nearly 40 km to Mount
Carmel and back the same distance on
the same day. We see her strong faith
echoed in the words found in II Kings 4:30
- But the child's mother said, “As surely
as the LORD lives and as you live, I will
not leave you.” So he got up and
followed her.
Though the Lord allowed sickness
and death, the faith of the Shunammite
woman was stronger than the situation
at home. She got her child back from
death!
3. The Lord is in control of the marriage
of our children
Abraham was one of the members of
the “Hall of Faith.” When the Lord God
tested him, he had the courage to trust
and obey the Lord.

When we read the 24th chapter of
Genesis, we are filled with awe at how
the Lord honoured this simple faith of
His servant. We see in the 15th verse,
“Before he had finished praying,
Rebekah came out with her jar on her
shoulder. She was the daughter of
Bethuel son of Milkah, who was the wife
of Abraham's brother Nahor.”
It is just amazing to see that everything
happened the way he prayed.

The Cross and God's Mission
R. Theodore Srinivasagam*
'No cross, no mission' will sum up the
relationship between the cross and God's
mission. There is only one cross – the
cross on which the Lord Jesus Christ died.
There is only one mission – the
reconciliation of man with God. This is
possible only through the cross.
The cross symbolizes God's salvation
to all mankind. Salvation has to do with
man's relationship with his creator God.
The rebellion of man against God which
began in the Garden of Eden got
exacerbated down the ages as the
history of mankind shows.
The only way man could ever be
reconciled to God was by sacrifice of a
sinless person. In the Old Testament we
see this done through the sacrifice of
clean and blemish less birds and animals.
We read about this atonement in
Leviticus 16. But this was a temporary
measure and had to be repeated year
after year and generation after
generation and was only for the
Israelites.
However, as we come to the New
Testament, the Lord Jesus Christ, the
sinless son of God, became the sacrificial
lamb (as prophesied in Isaiah 53:7).
Instead of animal and bird sacrifices that
were temporary, Jesus the sinless holy

sacrifice once and for
all. John the Baptist
proclaimed, “Look, the
Lamb of God, who
takes away the sin of
the world” (John 1:29),
making it clear that the
death of Jesus was not
just for the Jews, but for all mankind for
all generations. This is perhaps the first
time that we read that Jesus death on the
cross is to take away sin of all humanity –
a missionary message. The message of
salvation is no longer to be confined to
the Jewish nation, but to all nations.
Further Jesus himself said, “When I am
lifted up from the earth, will draw all men
to myself” (John 12:32). Thus salvation
was made available to all.
This is what God's mission is all about
– salvation to all. God's mission is the
reconciliation of all human beings with
God without any distinction as we read in
Rev. 5:9 “…with your blood you
purchased men for God from every tribe
and language and people and nation.”
As we briefly look at the Cross and
Mission, there are 3 aspects that we will
consider here.

I. The Cross and its Message (the
Gospel).
1. Without the cross and resurrection
there is no gospel and there is no
message to proclaim and so no
mission. Paul's argument on this is
very clear in 1 Cor. 15:3, 4; 14-20.
2. Without the cross, there is no
forgiveness of sins. Jesus
proclaimed forgiveness from the
cross as we read in Luke 23:34. Paul
says, “God made you alive in Christ.
He forgave us all our sins”
(Col.2:13). Mission has to do with
making available to all the
forgiveness of sins.
3. Without the cross Satan, sin and
death would not be defeated. Paul
proclaims that Jesus “…having
disarmed the powers and
authorities, he made a public
spectacle of them, triumphing over
them by the cross” (Col.2:15). God's
mission is to show this victory over
Satan, sin and powers of evil.
4. Without the cross reconciliation
between God and man is not
possible because of God's holiness
and our sinfulness (Col.1:19, 20).
Mission has to do with reconciling
Man with God and man with man.
5. Without the cross there is no peace
on earth, which was proclaimed by
angels to the shepherds at the time
of the birth of Jesus and
expounded by Paul in Col.1:20.
6. Without the cross there is no
justice, one of the hall marks of the
rule of God. In Romans 3:23 and 24
we read, “…all have sinned and fall
short of the glory of God, and are

II. The Cross and the Message Bearer
It is not just the message that is
important, but message bearer also
makes an impact in God's mission. So
how does the cross affect the
message bearer?
1. The life and life style of the message
bearer should be changed by the
cross and the Gospel message to
have an impact on others. Jesus
said, “anyone who does not take
his cross and follow me is not
worthy of me” (Matt. 10:38). He
also said, '…unless kernel of wheat
falls to the ground and dies, it
remains a single seed. But if it dies,
it produces many seeds
(John12:24). Has your life changed?
2. The ministry of the message bearer
should follow the ministry of Jesus
in all its variety. This includes the
proclamation of the Gospel, healing
the sick, caring for the needy and
making disciples. Jesus said,
“Whoever serves me must follow
me; and where I am, my servant
also will be” (John 12:26). What
does your ministry look like today?
3. The message of the message
bearer through his / her word and
deed should be centred on the life
of Jesus, his cross and his salvation.
All other activities should be
adjunct to the main goal of God's
mission. What are you proclaiming
through your word and actions?
III. The Cross and its Mission
The cross is not the end of the story.

 The resurrection of Jesus after his
death on the cross revealed to all, that
the cross was not a symbol of defeat,
but a portrayal of his victory over
Satan, sin and death. As a result, those
under bondage to Satan and sin are
set free and salvation is freely
available to all through repentance
for their sins and faith in Jesus. This is
the message that Jesus commanded
his disciples to proclaim in all the four
gospels and also in the book of Acts.
He told us –
1. Whom to proclaim to – to all
nations …. to make disciples (Matt
28: 18-20)
2. How to proclaim – with signs,
healing and wonders (Mark 16:15-
18)
3. What to proclaim – death and
resurrection and forgiveness of sins
(Luke:45-49)
4. Who should proclaim – all who are
A Mission seminar was organized in Dipupar
Nagaland. 23 persons participated and were
blessed. We hope that this programme apart
from broadening the understanding of missions
will ensure young people to commit their lives to
serve the Lord.

5. Where to proclaim – everywhere
with the power of the Holy Spirit
(Acts 1:8).
Why should we be involved in God's
mission? So that we can one day see “a
great multitude that no one could count,
from every nation, tribe, people and
language, standing before the throne
and in front of the Lamb……… crying
out in a loud voice: 'Salvation belongs to
our God, who sits on the throne, and to
the Lamb'" (Rev.7:9,10).
So the cross of Jesus Christ is central
for our salvation, our life style and our
ministry. Are you following the cross of
Jesus in your life and ministry?

(The reason we are able to move forward is because of constant prayers that are raised by
the prayer warriors across the world. Satan trembles when God's people pray. He acts
when prayers are raised in accordance with His sovereign will. God is pleased with those

1. HIMACHAL PRADESH, Dharmasala Pray:
Praise:
We could spend LOSAR(Tibetan new
year) with our people group.
For the good health God has given the
field workers during cold winter.
Pray:
That we may be able to share the Gospel
to our contacts during Good Friday and
Easter Programme in April.
The true light will shine in the darkness in
the Tibetan areas. Jesus Christ will break
through all the strongholds and
demonstrate His power.
PUNJAB Bhatinda
Praise:
183 children participated in children’s
camp in five stations of Bathinda field.
Kali Kaur and Sinlo received Jesus as their
personal saviour.
Mr. Jagtar our contact experienced the
healing and started to read the Bible.
Pray:
Mr. Karam singh may be delivered from
alcoholic habit and know the Lord.
Mrs. Amarjeet is suffering from arthritis,

2. UTTAR PRADESH, Dehradun
Praise:
Gospel was shared to ten new people.

God's marvellous protection the second

a severe storm that hit on 25th February
early morning at 4 am and took off the
roof of the house.
In spite of severe cold wave that has
affected the crops; the Tharu believers
had a good sugarcane harvest.
Pray:
For 2 youth in Village Seda Bedha, who
are eagerly preparing to go for a
'Discipleship Training Course'.

Praise:
We could reach out to the new area
Babhnan in Basti district and share
gospel to a family.

4. UTTAR PRADESH, Fatehpur
Praise:
God helped us start the worship in Silraha
village on 8th Feb 2015 at Mr Raj
bahadur's house.
Radheshyam and Mahesh are our
believers from Teesi village. We were
worried about the re-conversion which
was planned there on 5th February, but
God was in control there and anti-
Christian elements could not do anything
there.
Rukmani a seeker was possessed by the
evil spirits. She was unconscious for more
than 24 hours. As we prayed for her, God
wonderfully delivered her from the
bondage. Now she is alright and coming
to the fellowship regularly.
Pray:
On 8th last month, we started a worship
meeting in Mr. Raj Bahadur's house in
Silraha village. That same evening, a 53
year old lady was murdered in the same

Ho field celebrated their jungle camp from 19-22 February. Around 1300 believers
attended the camp. The Ho film called “Prodigal Son” was dedicated on 20
February by Rev. Shailesh Amin. The people were greatly blessed by the Word

5. UTTAR PRADESH, Robertsganj
Praise:
We had the 4th Field convention on 14th -
16th Feb 15, and 50 people took part and
it was a blessed program. Bro Kunal
brought God's word.
In spite of opposition, every believer is
growing in the Lord and God is giving us
opportunity to share the gospel.
Pray:
Our Missionary Nehhao's son Joshua fell
down and has fractured his hand. Pray for
healing.
The hostel boys who are writing final
exams and for their spiritual growth.
For more open doors for sharing Gospel
in Sonebhadra area.
That the new contacts and believers who
heard the gospel in the field convention
may grow in the Lord.

6. Gaur, Nepal
Praise:
The Lord has helped us to start free
tuition at Bhaloyhiya village and 7
children are coming.
We could share the gospel to 10 new
people at Barawa and Bhiloiya and with
Devendra Prasad Yadav family in Pathra
village.
Pray:
That we can share the gospel with
parents of the tuition children.
That God will help us to conduct open air
preaching in three of our mission
stations; Gaur, Auriya and Bhaloiya.
BIHAR, Raxual
Praise:
In Basatpur village, Sunday School picnic
was held & 15 NT was distributed and
children could memorise 10 bible verses.
In Senwarya village we could start new
fellowship.

Praise:
Our believers Mr Boronson and Mrs
Jushna were childless for more than five
years. God heard our prayers. She is now
conceived.
Mr Esau who was having serious sickness
is healed through prayer.
Pray:
That God will keep the missionaries in
good health since climate change is
taking place and many are getting
different kinds of sickness.

The missionaries are making steady

10. TIRIPURA, Unakotti
Praise:
The missionary team could complete the
1st and 2nd language evaluation test.
They have made progress in the local

That the seeker's meeting to be held in
Kalishashon and Sova Bagan in the
month of April will be successful.
Naga Munda and family, from our people
group backslided as none is ministering
to them. Pray that they will be restored.
Krishnagiri field convention
The Krishnagiri field convention was held from Feb 14 -15, 2015 at Poovathi Church.
150 believers from all the 5 IEM Church believers participated and were blessed.

Praise:
Anil Mahali is delivered from the evil spirit
possession and for 10 new contacts in the
field.
Youth Retreat was conducted in
Dimabeechline. 20 youth were
challenged with the word of God and in
turn they are coming to Church regularly.
Successful Women's retreat program
was conducted at Birpara on 9th Feb.
2015 and 30 women attended. Many non-
believer sisters could listen carefully
about women's responsibility and
believing Jesus Christ.

13. RAJASTHAN, Hadothi
Praise:
A new village Dadwada is opened up for
the gospel, here some people are willing
to accept Christ as their personal saviour,
now we have plan to start Sunday
worship here.
The Book of Revelation is translated in
Hadothi Language in this month.
At the Discipleship camp in Kota
conducted by UESI on the 27th Feb-
March 1st, 13 of our believing boys and
Girls from Ranodiya, Gethe, Pachel and
Itawa villages attended and they listened
to God's word. Some of them attended a
camp like this for the first time.
Pray:
VBS programmes to be held in Jagpura,
Gorela and Ranodiya villages in the
month of April and May. That the Lord
may touch children.
Saharia people group in Baran district,
have a population of about 1 lakh. But
none of them have heard about our living
God. We need to start ministry among
them in the coming days.
Tailoring classes are planned in the
month of June for Women in Pachel
village.

Praise:
Story telling workshop was held in
Dabavalivav on the 17th & 18th Feb.

Praise:
Evangelistic (Dandar) Program was held
on Feb 21st night at Chepralla and it was a
blessing 120 people attended, 40 new
people heard the Gospel through songs

God helped us to get new contacts from

In spite of opposition, Karimunisa got
another 2 new Muslim contacts.
Pray:
Bayanagudem and Baljapalligudem area
are facing water scarcity. That God will
help meet this need.

three years. Pray for God's healing.

protection and for the people who came

26. TELENGANA, Chinnoor
Praise:
The Chinnoor field Women convention
went on well from Feb 24-26. 150 women
participated.
We had film shows in 5 villages. Many
people came for the program. We had a
good response in Every village.
Our believer Nissi delivered a baby boy.
When she was in the 3rd month of
pregnancy, she had some problem in
uterus. Doctor told her to abort the baby.
But by prayer, GOD did miracle. Now both
baby and mother are fine.
Pray:
That those who committed their life to
Christ in the women's camp, will remain
strong in their faith.
For the 20 new people who are coming to
church from different villages.
Lazarus who is suffering with kidney
problem in Bheemmaram, and our
believer Chandrakala who is suffering
from fits need God's healing touch.
That the planned Youth Meeting in the
surrounding villages will be a blessing.
100 children participated in the children's retreat in Chennur during Pongal
holidays. Many were from non Christian faith. A Child Aruna said, “My father is a
drunkard and my mother left him and is living with another person. In this situation I
came to this meeting and have decided to participate in all the Church activities
from now on.” Praise God.

Praise:
God saved Soyam Srinu's daughter from
a fire accident.
In Turakadudem area, 25 new families
came to know the Lord.
In February, God helped us to get 30 new

This Field in fact had the continuity
and passing on the baton of ministry from
one missionary to the other over the
years. IEM, the Mission of God has been
sending missionaries consistently to
sustain the ministry advancement thus
far. As a result of God's faithfulness, we
are able to see two worshipping
congregations in Christ Church, Kullu
Town; one congregation in Christ Church,
Shalwar (Sainj valley), 45 kms from Kullu
Town; one house worship group in an
interior village Rikhly (Tirthan valley), 67
kms from Kullu Town; and an emerging
house worship group in Raison, 13 kms
north of Kullu Town. We haven't seen a
remarkable break-through in the harvest
of souls as yet, but we have seen the
continuous work of God and the step by

step growth of the church here, with
testimonies of wonderful transformation
and witness. Our Lord Jesus is preparing
the ground for the future where we
would see a bountiful harvest of souls for
the Kingdom in Kullu valley. Our labour in
the Lord is not in vain !
We gratefully remember the
sweat, toil and tears of all the
missionaries who have laboured in
this field both from India and abroad.
The Lord has honoured their efforts!
A light on the hill top
In the beginning a small group of
believers used to meet for worship at
Rev. V.T. Joseph's place in Kullu town and
then at a believer's home. The need for a
church building arose. Rev. T.V. Thomas,
our missionary serving in Kullu and the
local believers applied to the government
for a suitable ground to build a church.
After years of effort and through the help
of the then Governor of HP and Deputy
Commissioner of Kullu, the old British
cemetery at the heart of Kullu Town was
allotted in 1979. In 1985 with the good
support from the missionaries and the
local believers, under the leadership of
our missionary Miss P. Sathyavani, the
construction work started. Officially the
church was dedicated in May 1991 by the
former Bishop of CNI Amritsar Diocese,
the Rt. Rev. Chandu Lal, marking a
forward step in IEM's partnership with
CNI.
There are two congregations here –
one Hindi and one Nepali. Now we have
48 families. We have our self supported

we support one IEM missionary, and
support the
ministries of Bible
Society of India and
FEBA. The goal of
this Church is to
reach out into the
areas in Kullu region

people groups living in Kullu valley, and
ultimately fulfill the mandate for which
IEM started work in this remote valley.
Sainj Valley – Christ Church,
Shalwar – Inner Seraji region
In 1970 five young men were baptised
in Shalwar, through the work of IEM
missionaries, and as a result a
worshipping congregation was formed,
which later developed into Christ Church,
Shalwar, which is 45 kms from Kullu
Church. There is a small worship centre
situated on a hillock, overlooking the
villages on the mountains and the fast
flowing Sainj river. There are 13 families
worshipping here and one evangelist Mr.
Gulab Singh taking care of the
congregation and outreach work. There

is a great challenge here to reach out to
the thousands on these mountains. In the
years past, since the year 1967, IEM
missionaries have toiled hard with much
burden and vision; and the Church here
has passed through the fire of
persecution and severe opposition in the
past, but still remains as a remnant to
witness for our God who reigns for ever
through all generations. Please pray that
there will be a glorious harvest of souls
for the Kingdom in the years ahead, with
the present believers and their children
standing as effective witnesses for
Christ.
Tirthan Valley – Rikhly Fellowship
In 1985 a small
congregation of
believers started
worshipping in a
house in a very
interior area on top
of a hillock, through
the work of IEM missionaries. There are 12
communicant believers still continuing to
worship here in this remote corner of the
valley. It is 67 kms from Kullu Church, and
44 kms from Shalwar Church. Both the
Sainj and Tirthan valleys are linked to the
large Great Himalayan National Park,
which is rich in exotic varieties of flora and
fauna, and also interspersed with many
villages. We do not have missionaries
here now, and Please Pray that there will
be a powerful revival breaking out in this
part of the valley, the Holy Spirit
convicting souls of sin, righteousness
and judgement, and churches would be
established in every cluster of villages.
This could find fruition only when the
already established churches in Kullu
would send out workers for the harvest.

Most of the believers we see in Kullu
Church, Shalwar Church and Rikhly
Fellowship, since the last 14 years have
been baptised by Rev. Ayo. He is 65 years
and is still going strong for the Lord and
active in his service more than younger
people. We thank God for their lives here
and for their contribution and service
through the ministry of IEM in this land.
They still have their heart for this land and
people, and Please Pray that they will be
used mightily in their older years by our
Lord, and many more souls will be added
to His Kingdom through them.
In Jesus there is Hope!
Asha (name changed) earnestly
sought after the true God and fasted for a
week when she was in class 8 .
Her brother who had attended church
that week came and shared about a
testimony he had heard in the church.
This triggered Asha's thinking and led her
to pray to Jesus along with her other
gods . She cried, 'Whoever is the true
God, please reveal your self to me.” The
same night she saw a vision of Jesus. She
was happy to see the vision and gave up
fasting. But she didn't give her life to
Jesus. At times, she read the New
Testament though. Not able to cope up
with the anger of her father, twice, she
attempted suicide. At one such time, she
remembered Jesus and surrendered her
life to Him. It was in 2003. She never
knew of any church, so she was prayed at
home. One day she came to know that
Manali hospital has a church in its
compound. Joyfully she attended this
church regularly.
The next year, she was baptized and
became an active Sunday School teacher
after her training in Amritsar. From 2007,

she is working in the book room of the
church. Questions were raised against
her faith at home and eventually she was
sent out of her house. Since 2011, she is
living alone as a strong witness for the
Lord. Her dependence on the Lord has
grown and she is ever grateful to the
Lord's care and the love of the church.

“Can God forgive my sins?”
It was a Sunday. We had just finished
prayer. Just then, there was a knock and I
opened the door. Ramesh and his friends
stood at the door. They pleaded to come
and pray for the healing of Santosh,
Ramesh's sister-in-law. They said that she
was bedridden. We immediately went
there, prayed for her healing and shared
the Gospel to the whole family.
Early the next morning, Ramesh came
back and asked us, “Can God forgive my
sins?” We said, “ofcourse. He will. But
you need to repent, and believe in Jesus
as your Lord and Saviour.” He confessed
his sins and accepted Jesus as His
Saviour. Santosh also became well and
every time we visited her, she was
reading the New Testament. After a
while, when we returned back after
holidays, we found Santosh sick. Within
two days, she passed away suddenly. We
were sad but we knew the Lord had
saved Santosh and she is with the Lord
and that we will meet her again. This
incident made us to understand that God
is at work in the lives of people because
they are very dear to HIM.

I was born in Nepal and brought up in a
Hindu family. I came to India in 2003 to
earn a living. I started work in Bavanagar,

during those days I lived without God. My
elder daughter, Pushpa used to often fall
sick and I took her to temples and witch
doctors for healing. But nothing helped.
In 2010, I shifted to Kullu and my children
started to go to Christ Church, Kullu. IEM
missionaries used to pray for Pushpa's
healing every Sunday. As a result of
prayer, God healed her miraculously.
Pushpa's testimony led me to the
Sunday fellowship in 2012. In September

In May 1856 the German Moravian
missionaries started their ministry in
Lahaul valley, with their mission station
established in Keylong, which is the
present district HQ of Lahaul and Spiti
district of Himachal Pradesh. In 1940,
after 84 years of dedicated ministry they
had to leave India because of the second
world war, and they sadly exclaimed, “We
could not find a gathering of a handful of
Christians.” The Moravian enterprise saw
the new Christians going through severe
persecution, even to the extent of some
committing suicide because of the
unbearable social and religious
oppression. Some of them left Lahaul

publicly. I prayed and decided to serve
the Lord among my own Nepali people.

after the Nepali fellowship of Kullu

during summer, visited some villages,

there was no full time ministry. In 1995
IEM set the beginnings of a full time
ministry and in 1996 a socio-linguistic
survey was done from June to August,
and the ministry was launched in proper
with clarity and purpose. As we look back
the past 19 years, we have so much to
thank and praise God for His goodness,
preservation and openings in ministry,
even though we have not been able to
see His church planted so far. We have
gone through very many uncertain
situations, resistance, opposition, lack of
response, people accepting the Lord and
not able to fellowship because of family
and social oppression. In the midst of all
this we are able to say that our Lord Jesus
is faithful in His calling and keeping of our
lives in this ministry
The strategy God gave us was this –
since the Lahaulis had a majority settled

in Kullu we envisioned a dual approach to
our work. In winter we will serve among
them in Kullu region where 80 percent of
Lahaulis are settled; and during summer
we will cover 80 to 90 villages inside
Lahaul and reach out to more than 200
families in a regular manner. At the same
time, for many years we were trying to
get a permanent base station inside
Lahaul, but to no avail. At last in October

Himalayas.” Though snowfall started by
end of November 2014, we still were
moving around to different villages on
foot and on the main road by bus when the
snow was cleared. We were able to share
the gift of God seen in the first coming of
our Lord Jesus Christ to many families who
would remain totally cut off for 7 months
from the rest of their family members. We
conducted worship services in a few
places in Pattan valley, and we are trying
to find ways to have Sunday fellowships in
such homes where they are open to the
Gospel and are seekers. The weather and
intermittant snowfall is a hindrance for
our movements on foot or by vehicle. The
new year 2015 Bible verse 12 page
calendars were precious for them and that
is a gift we could pass on to them for the
New Year. We celebrated a white

worship and the precious Gospel was
shared powerfully among them. This is the
second year we have done this and it is
again a historical event. Then later we had
an invitation from the biggest village
Beeling of Ghar valley, to have a Christmas
celebration. Ghar valley is the central hub
of Lahaul, with 25 villages and 14 Buddhist
monasteries, and is one among the 6
smaller valleys in Lahaul.
In Kullu region our work continues among
the Lahauli people all through winter and
summer, and our heart cry is to see a
vibrant congregation of Lahauli believers
worshipping in Christ Church, Kullu Town,
in a worship service between 9.00 to 10.30
pm. We have a good number of contact
families and friends here, and it is from
Kullu area that we have built friendships to
reach out into the vast Lahaul valley with
the Gospel. Please Pray that our dear
people would hear the call of our Lord
Jesus and respond to Him now.

glorious opening to see souls being
redeemed and gathering for worship in
Lapchang, Keylong and other village
clusters in Lahaul.”

believers to find
Christian life partners, after meeting
many local pastors we heard lot of stories
about those who could not continue in
their Christian faith due to marriage with
unbelievers. That burdened us to do
something for our Batra believers to help
find Christian partners. And God enabled
us to prepare a MOBILE APP which lists all
the Batra believers who are 18-35 aged
male and female. We pray and believe
that this APP will help each of our Batra
believers who are seeking for a life
partner and to have a blessed married
life’.
Lost & Found!
Butho bhai and his wife from Vagur
village, Gujarat, who are our seekers, lost
all the original and duplicate certificates
on 10th Feb 2015. They sought earnest
prayer. We all prayed and in an amazing
way God answered! After 6 days, all the
certificates were returned by the one
who stole them. The family praised God
and gave 100/- as a thanks giving offering
to the Church.
The living God healed me.
Rami ben from Dhareda, [one of the
oldest villages contacted by our
missionaries in Gujarat] was paralysed
and was in death bed 20 years back. God
heard the prayer of the church and

meeting in her house. All of us were
blessed in that fellowship.

Leadership program, Korku: Six
believers, four native workers
enthusiastically participated in the
leadership programmes conducted in
the months of January and February,
2015. In January, the main sessions were
on (1) the importance of effective
leadership in the church. (2) 'Qualities,
Responsibilities and Struggles of servant
leader '(3)' The Hidden enemies of a
servant Leader'. Missionaries Bijoy,
Radhakrishnan and Kauri were the
resource team. In February, the focus
was on 'influencing leaders by setting an
example' Mr. Santosh (GNW) took
sessions on our freedom and rights as
Christians followed by a discussion on
how to avoid unwanted problems from
people who oppose the Gospel. There

were also sessions on 'Christian Home'

discussions. As most of them were new
these sessions were relevant and useful
to them.
God stopped the Motorcycle…
Ventakamma, one of our believers had no
children of her own and was bringing up
her brother in law's children.
On the 1st of March 2015, When
Girish (Aged 13) one of the
children was standing alone in
front of his house, two
youngsters with their faces covered
sprinkled some powder causing Girish to
faint. They kidnapped him and were
speeding away on a motorbike. As they
came near the Asnad Bethel Church the
bike suddenly stopped for no reason. By
then, Girish also regained consciousness
and tried to wriggle out of the hands of
the kidnappers. They hit him on his face,
and went away. Girish ran into the church
compound and after some time ran back
home to tell what had happened. At 9.00
am when we came to church, people
were talking about this and during the
service Girish shared, “ Because I believe
in Jesus Christ He protected me from
harm and danger. “ His father Mallayya
told, “Only Jesus saved our son from the
kidnappers . Jesus Christ did not allow
the bike to move from church. A kind of
Super Natural Power is here in Asnad
Bethel Church”!
Girishs' parents have started to
believe in Jesus our Lord. God is a God of
miracles. He reigns through all
generations.

Motor Pump, bath room and toilet
were built with self support at Asnad. The
committee decided to raise funds locally.
The whole church co-operated
enthusiastically. Within 3 weeks they put
in Chinoor.
a motor in the bore-well, and constructed
a Toilet and bath room separately. It
helped us to conduct meetings and
conventions happily in Asnad.
Renovation of Chennur Church:
Believers are giving monitary support as
well as are doing manual labor freely for
the work. God's love constrained them
to come even at nights to engage in the
work. They have removed the broken tile
roofed structure and are replacing it
with rcc roof. It is a mega project with self
support. We need to support them with
our prayers.
Time Well Spent
The Women's Fellowship of Wesley Tamil
Church Haines Road, Bangalore led by
the Presbyter Rev. Sounder Raj visited
OTI, Krishnagiri mission field and both
the Boys and the Girls hostels. They had a
blessed time interacting with the hostel
children and could share the love of
Christ through praise and worship and
with love gifts of refreshment to
children. After seeing the ministries of
IEM for themselves, they were

Down The Memory Lane
Each and every mission field in IEM and the incidents
that led to its opening is God sent.
Overseas missionaries from England
manned a small hospital in Manali, Kullu
District for almost 25 years. They sowed the
seeds, prayed and God healed the sick; but
they had not seen any visible fruit. They
prayed with a vision that Indian missionaries
would be sent to Kullu valley for evangelism
and church planting. Dr. Peter Snell one of
those committed missionary doctors was
the one who passed on this vision to IEM. And our missionaries
Bros. P.S. Thomas and T.V. Thomas went there!
Bishop Rt. Rev. John Gollapalli had
pioneered the work among the tribes in
Andhra Pradesh from 1968. The mission
was called “Christ for Indian tribes” this
mission eventually was merged with IEM
since both had the same vision and policy.
Along with the mission the five
missionaries also became part of IEM.
Mr. Jagat Singh was working with Hill
Village Mission which was formed by
missionaries who came to Mussorie for
holidaying. When the mission was
dissolved in 1970 the work was handed
over to IEM and thus Mr. Jagat Singh
became part of IEM working in Tehri
Garwhal.
