Ecosystem Introduction and Climate History

This ecosystem in the Russian Taiga Biome contains high biodiversity. It is one of the largest
forested regions which stretched about 3,600 miles. The organisms living in this environment are able
to adapt to the Taiga ́s harsh climate. The forest is known to have long cold winters with heavy
snowfall, glong with hot, humid and rainy summers.

Climate Change’s Effect

The forest has been gradually changing over time due to the drastic climate changes it has
endured.. Global warming has affected the amount of snow, rain in this environment, now more than
ever before. This rise in temperatures also increases the amounts of wildfires, which causes the loss of
a few organisms who can not adapt to the changes. There has not been a drastic change in
temperatures, but slowly winter time had been getting shorter and summers have been longer. If the
climate continues to be affected it will completely change the structure of this ecosystem.

Human Impacts
Not only are humans the main cause of global warming, but we also cause deforestation and
pollution. Millions of trees are cut down their homes whenever we decide to use anything made out
of paper or wood. Yet worse consequence of deforestation is that we are actually causing these
animals to go extinct. Habitats are destroyed and sources that produce oxygen are being diminished
when trees are cut down. Pollution is another human problem that affects these organismś homes.
Pollution can be seen all around , everything naturally beautiful that was once given to us filled with
garbage. Which kills some organisms who are only adapted to a certain environment.

Rehabilitation Efforts or Future Plans

In order to help this ecosystem we must help reduce pollution, at least by ¼. We may also
make hunting endangered animals against the law, that way we do not lose the biodiversity. I would
also like for us to have community service groups that could go and pick up/report back when
something doesn't seem correct. Maybe plant a few more trees so that one day the forest may begin
to look like what it was before.
