Tien: Good morning everyone to The Doctors which is a talk show

hosted by Dr. Lily Rose and Dr. John Wick. So this is an important story
we are back on this morning about the flu is more widespread this year
than it was affecting to healthy of people
Phuong: And health experts are still warning that the worst may be to
come so far; medical contributor Dr. Lily Rose provide for us some
important information on how to keep everyone safe not just a lot of
kids. So, can you tell me more what are the causes of flu when we enter
in the winter?
Dr. Lily Rose: So well first of all, the flu is a respiratory illness caused
by influenza viruses that infect the nose and throat. These viruses spread
when people with flu cough, sneeze with the virus into the air and
potentially into the mouths or noses of people who are nearby. A person
can also get flu by talking or through physical contact such as shaking
hands.

Tien: Yes, I see, my friend has a little daughter she’s five years old who
is sick right now and has a fever so the night before my friend took her
daughter to the pedeiatricians office and he said he’s never seen
anything like it because we don’t know whether it’s a cold or a flu
Dr. Lily Rose: Yes, hard to know the difference I mean I described it
the flu is an infectious disease cause by an influenza virus(a cold on
steroids like everything is) and much worse the fever is
higher.Although the symptons can be similar (you’re felling a cure
and everything like that) but It’s a warning signs for parents when you
should take your child into get medical attention; if they’re having
labored breathing or (if you feel they’re in distress any bluish colour
around the lips certainly or) if they’re not feeding or drinking or not able
to keep down liquids and not easily awaken.
Dr. John Wick: (Especially one thing how do you know if your child
has pneumonia is not easy. This is a huge pearl for adults or a kids but
like you get sick with the flu and you’re sick for a couple of days; you
start to feel better after about five or six days that’s natural, then
suddenly you get really sick again so you have a super infection with
pneumonia which is a typically bacterial if they get worse, please bring
them in and get tested for pneumonia.)-> Influenza, commonly known
as the "flu," is an extremely contagious respiratory illness caused by
influenza A or B viruses. Flu appears most frequently in winter and
early spring. The flu virus attacks the body by spreading through
the upper or lower respiratory tract .With the flu, you are likely to
run a high fever for several days and have body aches, fatigue, and
weakness. Symptoms of the flu also tend to come on abruptly. but a
case of flu can lead to a life-threatening illness such as pneumonia.
Phuong: So we’re talking about kids let’s turn into adults now because
we have been seen a lot of stories about baby; to the flu if you are an
adults how should you determine it’s a time to go to the hospital?
Dr. Lily Rose: A few some similarities apply here significant difficulty
breathing, chest pain because heart attack is increased in the first few
week by the cough after the flu confusion dizziness intractable vomiting
those are all symptons or signals that you should see medical attention.
Tien: Thanks for your useful information . And Dr. John Wick, can you
suggest to us about the ways to prevent the virus?
Dr. John Wick: Yes, of course. The big thing that I do is handwashing
and that transfers over from work to home. Even if you washed your
hand 5 minutes ago, do it again before you touch your face or eat
anything that includes eating out because organisms can live on surfaces
for days. Next tip is getting the flu shot early. It is an inactivated or dead
vaccine and you can get sick from it. So I really encourage people to get
flu vaccine. Third tip is keeping your system strong, eating a well
balanced diet, (making sure you’re getting the four food groups), getting
enough sleep and exercising regularly. It’s all of things help your system
to fight flu. Lastly, if you get the flu I advise you should stay at home to
rest (avoid spreading it.)
Phuong: So what about taking a lots of vitamin C, can you recommend
more vitamins for patients?
Dr. John Wick: Vitamin C is the primary defense for most people
when it comes to flu season. See how much of this powerful
antioxidant you need to help keep yourself healthy this winter.
people seek this vitamin through food supplements, fortified juices,
fruits and vegetables.Besides provide vitamin C for body, I recommend
vitamin D for most of people and don’t forget the chicken soup, it sure
can help you feel better.
Tien: Thanks for your answer. So nothing make you feel tired to run
down the flu but the best way to treat this is naturally so we’ve got all
natural treatments for the flu symptoms that are dragging down and Dr.
Lily Rose’s gonna help me with this
Dr. LiLy Rose: Taking extra vitamin C contain foods like bell peppers
when you feel tired. With sore throat I always recommend using warm
salty water. It’s really effective at soothing the throat and it also help
reduce inflammation which is inexpensive and everyone can do it at
home. Just like Dr.John Wick said ‘’ Vitamin C was the primary
defense for most people when it comes to flu season ‘’

Tiên: That’s a good advice. So can you tell me more about fever?. I
mean symptoms or disease. You used to said that fever is worse than
flu.huh?

Rose or John (give choice one of them ^^): Fever is an

abnormally high body temperature that is accompanied
by shivering, headache, and also delirium in severe
cases. Fever by itself is not dangerous, but when the high
temperature is accompanied by cough, cold, seizures,
drowsiness, or delirium, it requires immediate medical
attention. To summarize, flu is a viral infection, where
as fever is a symptom of some underlying disease.
