Another Example way distractors analysis:

The following is given an example of how to analyze the distractor function.

Suppose a test result followed by 30 participants, the form of the problem is
multiple choice items where each item item is equipped with 5 alternative
answers (option). The result test consists of 50 items.

Items (option)
Group Information
number A B C D E omit
Top 20 2 1 2 0 0
Answer
1 Bottom 10 6 5 2 2 0
key A
Total (30) 8 6 4 2 0
Top 2 4 13 5 1 1
Answer
2 Bottom 3 6 12 2 0 1
key C
Total 5 10 (25) 7 1 2
Top 2 4 0 18 1 1
Answer
3 Bottom 1 5 0 16 2 0
key D
Total 3 9 0 (34) 3 1
Top 2 18 1 2 1 0
Answer
Bottom 0 22 2 2 0 0
key B
4 Total 2 (40) 3 4 1 0

a. For test item no.1, the key answer is A and the distractors are B, C, D, E.

- Distractor B is chosen by 8 people means: 8/50 x 100% = 16%.

Thus distractor B has performed its function as a good liar, since it was chosen by over 5% of
the test participants.

- Distractor C chosen by 6 people means: 6/50 x 100% = 12%.

Thus the distractor C has also performed its function as a good liar, since it was chosen by
over 5% of the test participants.

- D Distractor chosen by 4 people means: 4/50 x 100% = 8%.

Thus the distractor C has also performed its function as a good liar, since it was chosen by
over 5% of the test participants.

- Distractor E is chosen by 2 people means: 2/50 x 100% = 4%.

Thus the E distractor has not been able to perform its function as a fraud, since it is only
selected by 4% of test participants (less than 5%).
