Subject: Appeal for Approval of VAL Application (Zohair Ihsan AN1116003 PAKISTAN)

Respected Sir/Madam

I, Zohair Ihsan (Passport No. AN1116003 Pakistan) has applied for admission in PhD (Computer
Science) at Universiti Teknologi MARA. On 6 March 2019, my VAL application was rejected on the
following grounds:
” The reason for rejection is student did not complete his/her course at previous institute.”
The decision was uploaded on the EMGS website on 15 March 2019.

Respectfully, my humble request is to kindly review your decision on the following grounds.
1. Sir/Madam, the above-mentioned argument is a bit on the hard side as I completed and submitted
my final draft to my supervisor.
2. Dr Mod Yazid Idris is a highly professional scholar. He believes that submitted work was meeting 75%
of his expectation. He was of the view that changes must be added to avoid any unfavourable result.
3. It was his critical arguments that earlier, I manage to complete my work but at this stage of finalization
when he asked for further improvement my PhD maximum duration hinders in the way to finalize the
thesis.
4. A bird's-eye view of my academic records confirms that not only my supervisor was satisfied with my
work and his confidence in me giving me a hundred percent to complete my degree. It was
unfortunate that I was unable to meet the expectations of my supervisor as the time hindered in my
way to bring the final touch to my work.

Sir/Madam, keeping in view my limitation and earlier traumas like the sudden death of my mother
during my PhD and a road accident during my visit to Pakistan in the year 2017. I manage to complete
and submitted my final draft. I have already paid a massive price in term of 8 years efforts ending
without a PhD degree. I am an academician and my future without PhD degree is nothing.

I therefor humbly request you to grant me final chance to complete my degree at the minimum time
available. I tried my level best to get an extension from UTM and even tried to get new enrolment but
was unable to get admission in the same program as university statutes prohibit to grant admission in
the same program. In order to utilize my early efforts and use it as a base in order to finish at the
minimal time. I discussed my work with Professor at FSKM UiTM who suggested that with minor
changes you can use your already completed work.

I am hopeful your support and encouragement will help me protect my future and my family from
suffering resulted because of my inability to complete PhD.
