V. Development of Water Quality Monitoring for fishpond using Arduino. A Project Design.

Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Cavite State University-Naic, Naic, Cavite. June

2019. Thesis adviser: Sherrlyn M. Rasdas.

The study is a water quality monitoring for fishpond using arduino that benefits the

Aquaculturists and for the Bachelor of Science in Fisheries (BSF) students in Mabulo Annex. The

system is capable of storing the temperature and turbidity in excel that is connected to arduino,

automatically monitor the temperature and turbidity and provides printed reports. The developers

used Arduino IDE, Microsoft Visual Basic Express, Microsoft Excel for software development and

Arduino Mega Board, Arduino DS18B20 Waterproof Temperature Sensor, Printed Circuit Board,

Arduino SKU: SEN0189 Water Turbidity Sensor and Liquid Crystal Display for hardware

development. The researchers used V-model for software and hardware development. The

hardware and software were test by running the system several times. The performance of the

system and hardware was determine using ITD software and Prototype Development Evaluation

Instrument came from Technological University of the Philippines (TUP) where purposive sampling
technique was used in choosing the participants. The system was evaluated by thirty-nine (39)

participants composed of thirty (30) BSF students, five (5) IT experts, and four (4) Aquaculturists and

got a grand mean rating of 4.16 and a standard deviation of 0.16 in software evaluation with a

descriptive term of very satisfactory while hardware evaluation got a grand mean of 4.05 and a

standard deviation of 0.15 with a descriptive term of very satisfactory.

Statement of the Problem

The study aimed to answer the following questions:

1. What are the problems with manual monitoring of fishpond?

2. What are the features of the water quality monitoring?

3. What use in testing the circuit?

4. What instrument was used in evaluating the device?
