SUPERMARKET
INTRODUCTION:
Facility Layout is an illustration of different areas which shows the
process of operation in a particular entity. Through facility layout, the
relationship and workflow of different areas are presented. It is important
to entity because it increases the efficiency of its operation.

WHY SUPERMARKET?

The reporters chose the supermarket for facility layout to emphasize


its importance to consumers buying behavior and its effects for the
strategic planning of operation management.

In this modern generation people are seeking for more convenient


ways of purchasing/acquiring goods where their needs and wants will be
satisfied. The reporters come up with this layout because they think that
the supermarket is the best place where all the goods are present and can
surely satisfy its customers.

DIFFERENT AREAS OF SUPERMARKET

 ENTRANCE AREA
a. Security
b. Information Desk
c. Baggage Counter

This section is placed in entrance


area so that consumers can easily ask information and to ensure that their
baggages are secured.

1ST SECTION (Near the entrance)

a. Flower Boutique
b. Fruits and Vegetables
c. Bread and Pastry
The areas near the entrance are those that brings good ambiance to
the supermarket like the flowers which are pleasing to the eye of the
consumers.

2nd SECTION

GROCERY AREA

• Shelves

• Dairy Products

• Meat and Poultry

Next section is the grocery area which consumers most visited place
in the supermarket.

Clothes and Other Garments Area

This area is placed in the center because it catches the attention of the
customers to buy more items as they walk in the supermarket.

Home Appliances and Kitchen Utensils


This area is full of home appliances, utensils and other equipment because
most commonly all this items are found at the back of the house where kitchen is
placed.
