Class Three - C Date October 20, 2019

What standards or LOs were being addressed in the lesson? Students will be able to identify and use
the vocabulary related to the life cycle of a frog.

How did you cater for learners with special needs, and for differentiation?
Emergent level: I give each them a plate and a set of pictures and words. The student must
arrange the picture with a word then paste on a plate.

Development level: They will have a plate, pen, and set of pictures. The student must paste the
picture in the plate and write name the four stages of a frog's life cycle in order.

Master level: I give each them a plates and pen. student must take one plate and pen then start to
draw the four stages of a frog's life cycle in order and write the word four each stage.

How did you use positive reinforcement? Methods? For what? While students were activity, I used
positive words, like good, excellent and good work.
How did you sequence or scaffold activities so that they built gradually towards the learning objectives?
I started by presenting to the students on the smart board a picture of the frog's life cycle so that he can ask
to understand the stages of the frog's life. After that, I explain the stages of the frog's life, stating the name
of each stage. Then the students move to the activity centres according to the students ’level.

Overall aim and context of the lesson (that is, describe the lesson’s place in the unit of work. What did
students need to know before today’s LOs were addressed? Students will need to be familiar with the
following butterfly life cycle. What topic comes next and how did today’s lesson prepare students for
that?) Explain the stages of the evolution of the life the frog in a simplified way and using pictures and
easy words.

Describe
Who is the lesson for? The lesson was for third-grade boys and girls.
Where did the lesson take place? The lesson was explained in the science classroom.
What were you aiming to achieve in your lesson?
I tried to get students' attention by showing them a picture of the life cycle of the frog and
asking them how many stages in this picture and explaining the characteristics of each
stage. At each stage I start asking them questions to enable the student to understand the
vocabulary related to the life cycle of a frog.
What experiences did you provide to the students to help them to achieve your aims for
them?
All students in the class performed activities around the frog's life cycle in different ways
depending on their level. Some students' facade had difficulty arranging the stages
correctly, yet I noticed that the students enjoyed the activity and tried their best to
understand the lesson.

Analyze
Were students excited, always occupied, and remained on task during the lesson?
To engage students in the frog life cycle lesson by doing practical work using painting
and pasting the picture at each stage. Link to the Vygotsky theory suggests that activities
are used around one type of scaffolding, which is sensual for all activities because it gives
students the ability to touch and move, helping to understand the lesson in an easy way.
Why do you think the students responded the way that they did?
I think that students need more practice in order to understand the stages correctly, as
well as memorizing the words associated with each stage, making it easier for them in the
future stages of the life cycle of the frog.
How well did your teaching relate to the students’ prior understanding?
I started the lesson by reviewing students' prior knowledge by showing a picture of the
butterfly's life cycle and asking them what we call these stages? To see how they
understand previous lessons, John Dewey's theory suggests that prior knowledge
influences the learning process.

Appraise
Explain the nature of the experience from the students’ perspective.
The experiment is a useful way to clarify the lesson to students and use it helps students to
understand the lesson in a quick and easy way, as the experience shows how students
understand the information obtained during the lesson are important strategies in
education.
Did your lesson meet your teaching goals? Use your students’ performance on the end of lesson
assessment as support (Give proof in your portfolio)
Yes, the lesson achieved my educational goals through the ability of
students to understand the stages of the life cycle of the frog and the
distinction between each stage as well as memorizing the names of
each stage.

Transform
How might you enhance student learning of this lesson in the future?
In the future, I can enhance students' learning of this lesson through feedback and a quiz
that includes the order of the stages life cycle of the frog and the names associated with
each stage.
What are the implications for your professional practice of helping students to enhance
their learning in this particular way? (i.e. what skill will you have to develop or learn?
What professional development will you have to undertake?)
This experience has had a significant impact on improving my skills in the preparation of
activities and I will develop my ability to deal with students to help them understand the
subject of the lesson in a simple and easy as well as devising new strategies contribute to
the development of education.
