SKILLS AND UNDERSTANDING

Students will be able to: Identify the deferent between system and technology.

Link to prior learning: Students will need to be familiar with the following: Different technology
around us.
21st Century Skills: Students will be able to enhance the following skills: (1) Critical thinking and
problem solving, (2) Communication and collaboration, (3) Initiative and self-direction, (4)
productivity and accountability.

Key vocabulary: Salmon, Egg, Young, Adult, life cycle.

Resources & Time Starter (10 minutes)

• Smartboard (ENGAGE)

• Pencil In the beginning, the teacher will be showing them a different picture of
technology and ask them what did we call this?
• Set of pictures
The teacher will give the students 1 minute to turn and talk with a partner
• White paper then raise your hand if they know the answer.
• Glue
Tr: will choose the student randomly to get the answer.

Modeling

The teacher will model the lesson by using PowerPoint slides on the
smartboard.
• The first slide will be the topic of the lesson about the technology.

• Then the teacher displays the new vocabulary like Technology,


system, transportation and explains for the students meaning each word.

• The last slide will be an example by using the pictures that shows
students what the different type of technology in our life then ask the
student questions about this pictures.

Main activities (30 minutes)

Explore

Ø The teacher will divide the activities into three different levels.

Emergent activity:

Students will work individually in the group. They will need more guidance
to do this activity. The teacher will give each them white paper and a set of
pictures and set of words about technology. The student must match the
pictures with words, then paste on the white paper.

Development Activity:
Students will work individually in the group. The teacher will give each
them white paper and a set of pictures about technology. the students paste
the picture on the white paper then write down the name of each picture.

Master activity:

Students will work individually in the group. They will have a table
divided into three part like our needs, effect society and effect
nature and set of picture the student must start to sort the correct
pictures in the correct categories.

Ø The teacher will clap her hand and ask the students to clean up their
table.

Resources Plenary (5 minutes)

• Exit ticket Tr: will do a recap for the lesson. She will ask them what did you learn
today?

The teacher will give all the students an exit ticket and ask them to writing
three names of technological devices.
