III. Procedure
A. Routine
Warm Up Exercise: Head, shoulders, knees & toes
B. Motivation/ Springboard
It’s in the Box!
The class will be divided into groups to look through mystery boxes of supporting details and
determine the “main idea” of each box. They will make a conclusion sentence that summarizes
the main idea of each box, and share their findings with the class.
C. Lesson Proper
The class will be divided into groups (preferably by rows) and make them read a passage
(varied) provided by the teacher/s and discuss and describe to the whole class how they
were able to determine the main idea of a given selection.

IV. Assignment
Write a composition on a desired topic. Make sure that your content supports your
chosen topic.
