Statement of the Problem

MAJOR PROBLEM

What is the best architectural design solution for animal care center that will affect the
physical and mental health of both animals and users?

GOAL

to design a healing/therapeutic environment of a animal care center project that will

connect humans, and animals to nature which will help to reduce the environmental
stressor.

MINOR PROBLEMS

1. how to plan the spaces that will ensure the safety of the users from the
contaminants of the animals’ disease and that will prevent it from circulating and
spreading in the facility?
- to provide a holistic planning approach and to consider the air flow of the
proposed site. also, the use of electrostatic carbon filter in HVAC system which
will keep the fresh air and will reduce the ventilating cost and saves the energy.

 Identify the guidelines and standards for veterinary hospitals based

on existing laws. (BAI, PAWS and others)
2. what is the acoustic solution that will reduce / mask the noise?
- Using Echo Eliminator™acoustic panel to reduce/mask the noise especially the
barks of dogs

 Research on Echo Eliminator™
3. what is the architectural sustainable design approach that will help to reduce the
consumption of non-renewable resources?
- providing skylights that is installed with low – e glass will maximize the use of
natural lightings while minimizing the heat that will generate. Also, a Water
conservation that will limit fresh water usage and the use of gray water for
maintenance.
o STRATEGIES:
 Study the sun and wind orientation of the proposed site.
 Study on gray water system.
 Research on how to locate the openings of the buildings.
