ABOUT THE FIVE

WEEKS OF
WORKSHOP IN ART
APPRECIATION

 INTROUCTION/REFLECTION
On October 8, 2019 our professor Sir. Herneningildo Dico Jr. (Sir Hermi)

instructed us to attend a five week workshop in all aspect of ART including

Theater, Film, Art, Dance and Music. Improving our vision and insights of ART in

our daily lives, he also instructed us that this should be our midterm examination

but told us that don’t just based it just an exam but take this as an opportunity to

evaluate ourselves to nurture and learn every aspect and good teachings all about

the categories of art.

He also wanted us to participate and explore all the workshops we’ve taken

that’s is why it is also necessary for us also to evaluate ourselves and start

reshape our minds and look through art with positive outcomes and persuasive

imaginations
 ART

I was actually late for 45mins in that workshop due to personal reasons, but

then again I was really amaze about the topics itself expressing yourself through

art not just by what you see, but what you imagine in your own world as a person.

The instructor persuaded us to look further on what we see visualize something

more imaginative or what we see in our own world. Thus, it ended successfully

with a wonderful presentation about our group art presentation and explaining

every details and meaning of it.

THEATER
In the second meeting of the workshop I find theater to be more difficult as

I’ve imagined it was tough to comprehend yourself with facial and physical

actions. Dwelling in a more state that you have to grasp as an artist, but it teaches

me to appreciate theater or art as a whole.

 DANCE
In the dance workshop I was really agitated to go because it’s my forte and

talent but due to some department agenda. I was going back and forth the

cassalida theater and mph gym, but it was nice to be able to see such dances that

clarifies balance, grace and individuality. It shows that here in Mindanao we have

many different cultures and traditional aspects since the dawn of time, it clearly

specifies we are rich in all categories of art especially in dances.

MUSIC

In the music workshop I was really excited to witness and experience what
are the aspects of music in the Mindanao regions. First we introduced ourselves in
the room and the instructor explained to us what their group is all about why they
build and pursue about music, and why they specifically want to try traditional
music and instruments and they found out it was really majestic and nice to hear
and practice it with compassion and artistry.

It was then they instructed us to participate in some activities which first

they said close our eyes and they would play a piece and commence within it and
express it after the piece stops. Then they grouped as into two and make our own
story and come up with a piece with it. So far with the guidance of our instructors
we’ve delivered it neatly and nicely.
