them. Also, this type of test is easy to
construct and lessen the boredom of the
students and encourage the student not
to guess any answer. In limitation of this
kind of test teacher should provide
standard in scoring the students because
some questions require subjective
answers. Teacher must analyze first the
answer before scoring the students. In
construction of this kind of test, teacher
must create direct questions that needs
one answer. The answer to the question
must be brief such as a word a number a
letter or a phrase. Second is the
Completion Recall Type of Test. This is a
type of that leaves blanks in sentences
that the student must fill in recalling what
they have learned. Example are; The
shape of the world is _________.
The color of the sky is ________. This
type of test is easy to construct and make
students recall the one possible answer
to the given question. It measures the
memory and comprehension of the

Memorization is the lowest form of
learning and this type of test are memory
based questions and that explains why
this kind of test cannot measure the full
understanding of the students on the
lessons. In constructing this kind of test

not be confusing for the students while
answering the question and Make sure
questions does not contain any obvious
clues. In constructing completion recall
type test teacher should not take the
exact words from the text book that
he/she used in discussing the topic so
that the students can apply their
comprehension about the questions.

experienced while taking an exam and
asking their selves “when did we tackle
this lesson, I cannot remember anything”
Multiple choice, matching, and true-false
questions require you to recognize the
correct answers. Recognition type of test
is easier than recall type of test.
recognition test measures the guessing
ability of the students. This type of test
also requires the remembering skills of
the students because if they don’t
remember anything from the previous
lesson then there will be a possibility that
they will just guess the possible answer
but they are not really sure about it
because they cannot remember the
previous lesson. Example of this type of
test are multiple choice exam, matching
from column A to column B and True of
False.
 Essay type of test is type of test
that receive hates by the students
specially when the teacher says
“compose 2 paragraph essay, 500 words
determiner are not part of those 500
words” some students hate this type of
test because it is not easy for them to
construct long text that needs to have
fact or defendable opinions. This type of
test gives full freedom to the students to
answer the question, most of the time
questions requires subjective answers.
Teachers must provide criteria in scoring
the answers since it is the student’s
opinion that needs to be supported by
facts. This type of test is easy to
construct but not easy to score. It
requires the analyzation and
understanding of the student towards the
question. Also, essay type of test avoid
cheating but it depends if the test is a
take home test. This test measures the
logical reasoning of the students and
their critical thinking skills. Teachers
need enough time in checking the
answers of the students. Subjective
answers make it difficult to score but if it
is supported by facts the teacher can
provide a reasonable score. The teacher
must provide a clear question so that
students will not be confuse while
answering. Also, teacher should read it
while covering the paper so that it will not
lead he/she will grade it honestly and
objectively.
