 Project Title: ECO VERTICAL HOUSING

INTRODUCTION :

An Eco-house (or eco-home) is an environmentally low-impact home designed and

built using materials and technology that reduces its carbon footprint and lowers its
energy needs.

AIM :

 The design of a residential building that aim to create an awareness on eco

friendly environment.

OBJECTIVES :

 To study the concept of Eco-houses.

 An eco house could include some or all of the following :

 Higher than normal levels of thermal insulation

 Better than normal airtightness
 Good levels of daylight
 Passive solar orientation — glazing oriented south for light and heat
 Thermal mass to absorb that solar heat
 Mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR) system
 Heating from renewable resources (such as solar, heat pump or biomass)
 Photovoltaic panels, small wind turbine or electricity from a ‘green’ supplier
 Rainwater harvesting
 Greywater collection
 To make broad suggestions for the promotion of eco housing practices in
Chennai for the long term benefit of the society at large and protection of the
environment.

THRUST AREA :

 A new type of vertical housing by applying a renewable and sustainable

materials that will change the way we built a housing facilities.
