RA Kartini

Raden Ajeng Kartini is a noble woman who was born on April 21,
1879. As a person born in the family of Kartini, certainly she had the

familiar with this one hero. Kartini successfully completed her education
in elementary school. The character who thirsts for knowledge makes

However, at that time education for women was still very
limited. This also applies to Kartini even though she is a noble princess.
The father did not give permission to himself to continue his education
to a higher level. Kartini was sad because after all she could not change
her father's decision.
Kartini was a Javanese woman who had an advanced outlook on
her day even though she was shackled by customs. Until now Kartini
was known as a figure of female emancipation. This can be seen from
various correspondence letters with his friends in the Netherlands which
were recorded by Abendanon.
On September 17, 1904, Kartini died at the age of 25 years after
giving birth to her first and only child. Although he has passed away,
Kartini continues to inspire Indonesian women from various generations
through her writing. The article was collected in a book entitled “Door
Duistemis Tot Licht” atau Habis Gelap Terbitlah Terang.

Kartini was officially named one of the National heroes through

Presidential Decree No. 108 of 1964. In addition, as a tribute to his
services on April 21, it was celebrated as Kartini Day. Even W.R.
Supratman made a special song to commemorate his services entitled
"Ibu Kita Kartini". Now, the song is certainly not strange anymore
ringing in the ears of the people of Indonesia.
